The sounds have an all-too-human origin. One evening, Lucy and Connor find the dead body of a man in their kitchen. They soon realize he has a long-time connection to their house. Lucy's forced to find out what happened all those years ago and why it’s threatening her happiness today.

Meanwhile, the Classic Novel Reading Club is reading The House of the Seven Gables by Nathanial Hawthorne, a book about another old house full of secrets. Can Lucy find parallels to her own situation in Hawthorne’s fiction before the killer strikes again?

Plot …

Good group of characters and unique plot. However the story seems to get weaker near the end. As if author had to come up with the ending in a rush .. or she just wanted to end it quickly.

Great narrators to great stories

The narrators in Audible makes characters come alive. I love the author. Her stories are so well written..

It’s okay

Please get rid of Louise Jane. She kinda ruins the story. The main character not being too bright is bad enough

Fun Romance Mystery

I love this series! It’s a clean mystery/romance, and the narrator is great! Especially Louise Janes character!

This Series/Book Is My Happy Place

The Outerbanks, a library in a lighthouse, Lucy and Conner, a murder, maybe a ghost, and the dulcet tones of Elise Arsenault are a recipe for cozy mystery reading at its best.

Live this series

another fun installment in this series. This time the murder happened in our favorite librarian's New house. I though I new who the murderer was and I figured it out about the same time our heroine did. Excellent story.

Another great story in the series

This was another well written story in this series. Love the characters. This one wasn’t centered around the library but still an intriguing story. Love the ending.

Death by Beach Read is an entertaining cozy mystery but sometimes Lucy gets on my nerves because she is such a pushover.

I LOVE THIS SERIES

Can't wait to get the next one. The stories and voices are great! I will look for more of her books since I am getting the last one *book 10 next week.

Not quite perfect

Greatly enjoyed it. However irritated by not learning what was the full story on one of the possible suspects.
