Publisher's Summary

Next Up for Auction: Murder.

When auctioneer Wren Morgan begins cataloging the contents of the Campbell mansion, she's unprepared to find something that can't be appraised - a dead man. After the body turns out to be a criminal with ties to a recent jewel heist, Wren comes face-to-face with Death Bogart. A private eye and part-time bounty hunter, Death is searching for the stolen jewels needed to convict a murderer.

Death finds a friend and willing ally in Wren, but they aren't the only ones searching for treasure. Two ruthless men are also on the hunt, and they will do anything to eliminate the competition. To survive, Death and Wren must solve two mysteries spanning a century and a half and outwit a pair of cold-blooded killers.

WOW

Very entertaining, light and humorous. I laughed out loud a few times and listened straight through. The mystery part made you use your memory. Over all I am looking forward to the second story. I loved the main characters. I too am a Veteran with PTSD and there aren't many funny Veteran stories. THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT STORY!

I'm glad I stayed with it

I almost gave up on this book because I thought the characters seemed silly and unrealistic. I'm glad I continued reading. The lead characters Wren and Death (pronounced Deeth) are fun, intelligent, and realistic. The story is well written, planned out and well paced. It was a great story and I look forward to the next book.

Fun Story.

Where does Death and the Redheaded Woman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Ranks up at the top for entertainment value. It moved fast, was really interesting and different. Hard to beat a story that starts out with a dead naked man in the house.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Actually it's not a edge of your seat thriller. It's a fun, and unique cozy mystery with a little romance thrown in.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like Amanda Ronconi's narration, she always gets the essence of whatever she is reading.Good pacing, clear voice, no unnecessary pauses. Just flows along smoothly. She's great

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

In fact I did and almost always do listen to a book in one sitting. That's the perk of an audiobook. You can do other things while listening. So no time is lost turning pages. With a great narrator like Ronconi, it's the icing on the cake.

Any additional comments?

I am hoping there will be a new book in this series which I hope will be a series. It really was a great listen. I am stingy with my 5 stars. There have been some new (to me at least) authors on Audible and hope many of them come out with new books. A fair number of them will rate a 5 star.

Great Book, Great Narration

What did you like best about this story?

It really is a great story. Entertaining, and one of the most interesting heroes I've come across in a while.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

She one of my favorite narrators. I'll buy an audiobook from an author I don't know (as was the case here) if her name is on the cover. That said, when she was doing the auction calls it was really painful.

Any additional comments?

Loved the book and I'm looking forward to reading or listening to this author again.

Great Story with a twist

Would you listen to Death and the Redheaded Woman again? Why?

I really enjoyed the story but I have to say I love the relationship between everyone in the story. I also like seeing a woman be the hero for a change but also the love and caring they both show each other. I do have to say I am a big Death fan. I felt so much emotion for him. I really look forward to the next one with the way we ended this book.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

She always does a great job. I have enjoyed her story telling and she did a great job on this one as well.

Any additional comments?

I really did enjoy this book and it is worth a credit. If want clean fun excitement this is a book you will enjoy.

Good book

What did you love best about Death and the Redheaded Woman?

I enjoyed the characters of the story and the mystery

Would you listen to another book narrated by Amanda Ronconi?

I am not sure, I had a hard time following the characters in thought at times it took a minute to realize the character had switched, I feel like this could have been easier to follow if the tones of the characters where a little more defined.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes there is humor and suspense there are definite parts of the story where I just had to sit down and just get through moment of the character and hope that it turned out well for them

Lightweight, and not in a good way

The characters were one-dimensional, the sex jokes sophomoric, the gay stereotyping offensive, and the plot had holes big enough to drive a truck through. Really don't understand all the glowing reviews.

Light and fun murder mystery

In her first novel author Loretta Ross shows extraordinary potential. Death and the Redheaded Woman was a very pleasant surprise. Light and fun can be difficult in a murder mystery, but Ross pulls it off. This book comes very close to earning 5 stars.

Would you listen to Death and the Redheaded Woman again? Why?

Definitely. I love the characters and the story. Lots of information in addition to the story.

It would be difficult to pick just one. Amanda does such a great job with different voices but also giving each character different personalities that come across. I love it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I am an avid fan of snarkiness in the characters that make me smile and brightens my day.

Any additional comments?

Unexpected

Would you consider the audio edition of Death and the Redheaded Woman to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the book. I had a spare credit and a need to listen to a book and will listen to anything that Amanda Ronconi narrates. Credit well spent and am now about to get book two.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favourite?

I like both of the main characters, AR manages to make each character to sound distinct

Any additional comments?

I got this because I really like Amanda Ronconi and will now listen to anything she reads and am now discovering quite a few more authors that I'm liking.
