Publisher's summary

Guarded secrets. No one to trust. Jade is caught in one hell of an afterlife.

As a reaper, Jade Blackwell mistakenly believed her job would be as simple as helping souls cross over after death. And maybe it would be, if the angel of death wasn’t out to get her. With no idea why she’s on his hit list, she attempts to get answer by locating the reaper she replaced. But to do that, she must travel through hell with a guardian angel who doesn’t agree with her dangerous plans.

Soon, she discovers she’s only one piece of an ominous puzzle. With demons passing through the thinned veil between the living and nonliving worlds, an apocalypse is inevitable. Jade may be the key in stopping the war - if she can find out who she is, control her gifts, and not get trapped in hell in the process. If she fails, everyone - living and dead - will burn.

Good

I enjoyed this story and returning characters but the only thing keeping it from being outstanding was the change in partners for Jade. Their relationship felt forced and the big fight was anticlimactic. But staying true to the first book there was action and mystery. I can't wait to find out more about Jade.

An amazing continuation

It was amazing. The sex scene with Eli was so hot. Better than the one with Cole. The battle with Azrael intense. I thought for sure he was going to escape but the stool saved the day lol. I was surprised at Jade’s true identity too. I was thinking she might be angel like but not an Arch. And the first?!?! I didn’t see that coming. But so many things about her now make so much sense. Her apprehension to killing people. Her only being threatened with release and the the use of Simon as a bargaining tool. I love Wyatt and am so glad he is back. He is like a kid hearing the stories and I’m glad he got wifey back. I’m really interested in why she ended up in hell? Was it really because of the angel box or something else? I like Marla, she seems like she has good intentions but kinda has a goody two shoes type vibe. She did help kick some ass though.
