Excellent police procedural
I am working my way through the entire series. While there is nothing new and exciting about this format, it is well done with interesting story lines, and a nice cast of regular characters. Fast moving it is not, but there are some interesting twists in the mysteries and no bad language or unnecssary violence. I said mysteries as I write this there are no reviews afteer book one, and I like to look ahead, so far so good, I have not been disappointed.

An enjoyable diversion from the here and now.
The 1950s setting for the story is the overarching attraction for this series. But the mystery held my interest as well as the main characters. I enjoy the back stories of the people involved. Just the reveal of whodunit without the human interest leaves me cold.
