It began happening almost immediately. The signs were clear and distinctly familiar. They came through music, dreams, nature and sometimes even strangers. John was communicating from the other side. His death was not the end of our relationship. On the contrary, it revealed a new way of communicating. It was a deepening of the bond that had been forged during twenty years together as a couple and an epic cancer journey.

Healing is a spiral and there is no right way to pick up the pieces. There is only your way. And the path appears in the heart of every person who dares to look for it.

Everyone has access to their loved ones who have crossed. You don’t need to buy a crystal ball or hold seances (unless you want to), because this book shares practical tools for bridging worlds since they do, in fact, exist simultaneously.

In times of uncertainty, know this to be true...

Love never dies.

After losing my son three years ago, I have read so many books and have learned so much from the wisdom of others who have walked this profoundly difficult path. Death, A Love Story is easily in the top five of these many books - especially when listened to rather than read. And let me be clear...I feel like I've read almost every book out there.

Janelle has the unique gift of including the reader in her story. As I listened to her speak her magic, I felt as if I was right there with her, able to experience both the beautiful and the unimaginable.

I appreciate how warmly and openly she addressed some of the challenges that accompany grief but are often overlooked, like finding and embracing your beautifully wild self and learning to trust your instincts. More than anything, however, I needed to hear that “magic is a choice and miracles are all around us if we pay attention and are open to receiving them.”

This book is raw and real; it is tender and heartwarming. Janelle’s voice is deeply resonant and I was captivated from the start. In fact, I listened to the book straight through and will listen to it again and again because her voice is magic.

A light in the dark journey of grief.

Listening to Death: A Love Story was so moving especially listening to it in the author own voice. I had already read the book, but hearing it read by Janell Bolte’s voice made it feel even more personal, touching and raw. There’s something about the cadence and soothing nature of her voice that allowed me to connect even more deeply to this rich and soulful, at times heartbreaking, story.

This is not just a book about death. It’s a book about love, resilience, and being human. This listen is for anyone who has loved deeply, lost profoundly, or wondered how to carry both at once.

I know I’ll return to it again, because it holds wisdom I want to keep close.

Loved the read, now love the listen
