I loved this!

Brody has been after Rainey for years. He saw her, and wanted her from the beginning. He keeps going after her... even through an engagement (hers).

Rainey has been cheated on in every relationship she has had. And she expects no better from anyone, so she keeps Brody at arms length even when he tells her how he feels.

This was an excellent story and a great listen! I loved the characters Laura Lee created , and their stories. Stephanie Murphy is a great voice for this!!!

I told a friend about it right away and she loved it too.

I really did not want it to end. I cannot wait to read/listen to many more books from this author. I am so hooked.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 A Delightful RomCom!

Laura Lee delivers another fantastic RomCom and I loved everything about it from her wonderful writing style to the storylines and characters she created. This book swept me right in, Brody’s situation with Thor landing him in the ER and the way he handled himself was just a riot. And it is how he first meets Nurse Rainey. I had the pleasure of meeting these two characters in the first book, Riley and Devyn’s story. It was great to see how Rainey and Devyn became friends. It was also great to see how Brody and Rainey come together. I loved that Brody was in for the challenge. Rainey has not had the best luck with men, she always winds up with losers and her relationships have failed so she does not want to get involved with a player like Brody. Brody feels differently and takes what he could get. I loved how their story plays out, in the beginning it was back and forth bickering, then it evolves to something else. A lot goes on in this book, there is plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some great humor, a surprising twist for Rainey, some heartfelt moments and some smoking hot romance. I highly recommend this entertaining book and series. Thank you Laura Lee for another fantastic story, some great laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

Stephanie Murphy is a terrific narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. She does a great job portraying the characters, capturing their humor and emotions and projecting them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. hilarious and steamy!

These characters are nothing short of ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! I was drawn into this story immediately. The guy was hilariously persistent and absolutely dreamy. The stubborn heroine was his perfect match. This is a top read for me. It had everything you need in a love story. Angst, steam, twists, and parts that leave you giggling and gasping for air. I will be recommending this story everywhere!

Brilliant

I loved this book! I laughed and laughed st the antics between Brody and Rainne. My favourite scene was the emergency room visit. I have read other books by Ms. Lee and have loved them. There is comedy, heartache, emotional moments and romance. I adore the secondary characters.
I loved the audio book version because the narrator was so expressive and made the comedy more hilarious. I recommend this book!

Adorable Fun!

This is my first book by Stephanie Murphy and I really enjoyed it. It was a super fun listen! It had a little of everything, sweet, serious, laughs. Such a good listen I really enjoyed myself.
I want to hear more about this serious now! I feel invested.
Stephanie did an awesome job bringing this story to life!

The narrator was also at the top of her game. Loved her entire portrayal of the story. I can't wait to read the other characters stories!!

MUST READ!!

Laura Lee has done it again! This is the second book in the Dealing with Love series & it was just as amazing as the first! I absolutely adore Rainy & Brody together! This book has it all & it is definitely a must read; you won’t regret it!

This book started off so funny, then got kinda serious, then back to funny.
I loved every minute of it!!
The characters and the storyline were so enjoyable! I’m thinking possibly there might be a book two, maybe with supporting characters.
The narration was amazing! I highly recommend this book!

fun, steamy, sexy and sweet. Great narrator

This did make me laugh from the very first page when Brody ends up at the hospital with a not so little problem! It set up his attraction for maternity nurse Rainey. It also made my eyes roll with the man child, cocky, witty but innuendo riddled Brody who has named his cock and definitely has a breast infatuation!! I did love his very candid POV!
These two had serious chemistry and banter, but it was slow burn for a few years as Rainey refuses to give apparent man whore Brody a chance. After they make a secret friends with benefits deal, all bets are off. Or are they because Rainey has been let down so many times, can Brody persuade her that she's it for him?

This book is steamy, sexy, hot and funny if you like dirty talking and innuendos that were sometimes a bit OTT teenager, but it was fun, sweet and emotional too, told from dual pov.

I listened to the audio version and the female narrator was very expressive.

It was easy to listen to, not too much drama (apart from wanting to throttle Rainey towards the end for her crappy behaviour) and it made me laugh and smile and that was what I needed.

Freaking awesome

Their first meeting will go down in history as the meet-cute of awkwardness. It’s hilarious for so many reasons and it’s certainly setting the tone for this story. They will give you a ride through your emotions, laughing and swooning. They are freaking awesome friends for a long time and the perfect hot chemistry is building up to burst at a call-the-fire-department-level. But it’s not all fun and games and a guarded heart needs time to heal to finally trust what’s real.

I highly recommend this audiobook and as I started with the second book, I will go straight to Deal Breakers and enjoy their story.

Light and fun... with some sexual tention!

Laura Lee was a new author for me. I enjoyed Deal Takers! It was this sweat as pie and tickle you pink kind of romantic comedy. I really appreciated that. I found myself smiling wistfully throughout the entire audiobook. I like the light-heartedness of it. It’s definitely appreciated after some of the deeper books I’ve listened too. I really enjoy the funness in this story. Add the sexual chemistry, while it was crazy hot (like where’s the AC?) it was also fun. Brody and Rainey have this push pull thing happening until they become friends… until they become more!

The writing was great. It was light and fun. I felt like it was just a fun read and it was delightful. I loved how thorough Laura Lee created Brody. He totally felt like that cocky, full of himself guy that didn’t think the word no was meant for him… in a non-douchie way though. He was likable. The narrator, Stephanie Murphy, was pretty good too. I do wish we had duet or dual POV. I think it would have elevated the audiobook to full 5 stars. There are these books where it isn’t necessary because it’s pulled off by either the narrator or the author. There are times where is would kick it up a notch or two… this is one of those later situation.

So much fun!

I love to listen to a book and just sit back and enjoy it. Not a lot of angst, but a good story and if funny, that is just a plus. Laura Lee hits all those buttons with this second book in her Dealing with Love series. Brody meets Rainey in the hospital under unusual circumstances. He is smitten with her, but she is not interested. They run in mutual circles so over several years, they spend time together, and Brody never lets up. Their flirty banter is so funny and entertaining, it really makes the book fly by. I loved every minute of this adventure. Rainey is quite the woman. I find her very easy to relate to, thinking she knows what she wants, but finds out things are not always what they are cracked up to be. Brody is every girl's dream. The good looking, smart and tenacious, unrelenting man that never gives up. It flits back and forth in time, but is easy to follow and lets us get a good understanding of their relationship. Once you start this gem, you will not want to stop, it's that good!

Stephanie Murphy is the narrator and she is so talented. Her comedic timing is spot on and I love her voices. She adds so much to the story with her performance and I really enjoyed it.

Stands alone but maybe better as 2nd in series

I haven't read/listened to any other stories in the Dealing with Love series. This was actually my first book by Laura Lee. Deal Takers does stand alone, but I suspect that characters from the first story feature prominently in this one.

This story was difficult to listen to in shorter timeframes (30-60 minute commutes) because the time setting of the story jumps around and at times it was almost impossible to determine how much time had just passed since the last chapter, or even in the overall timeline. I tried to judge it by the age of the child, but it was still tough. It might have been less of an issue in print (where you could easily look back) or if I listened for longer periods of time at once. Normally I prefer relationships that develop over time (like the one in this story), but I would have preferred to just start at the beginning and say "3 months later" or "1 year later" instead of going back from present time. Maybe it works better as-is if you've read the first book in the series, but I read this one as a stand alone.

The narrator was really good. It would have been nice to have both a male and female for the dual points of view since the characters address the reader directly, or possibly even just a male narrator because it seemed like the story was told more often from the male point of view (even the book description is from the male point of view). That being said, Stephanie Murphy made the story interesting to listen to.

Overall, I liked that it was a super slow burn for the relationship.

Loved it!!

This book was hilarious!!!
I absolutely adored Brody, and Rainey’s reactions to him were awesome.
There was a bit of a heart wrenching part for Rainey when she found out something terrible, and the way she found it, too.
I laughed hard in many parts of this book, and aww’d in others.
Great story and great characters.

My only gripe, and has nothing to do with the story, is that when the POV was Brody, I sometimes thought it was Rainey.

Excellent book, though.
