Great story, spent the entire day listening to it. I have many of Irene Hannon books on paper, but these days I enjoy recorded books more.

Wonderful Listen

Well narrated book filled with violence and sick people who I think just give others ideas. Just because the genre is romantic suspense, why do the women always have to be the ones who get victimized in these books? I appreciate that they are portrayed as very strong women but still they are always the victims of such violence and sick behavior. As these books go this was well written, but I have no desire to ever listen to it again. I did appreciate that the good guys weren’t portrayed as stupid in order to drive the plot.

I don’t think that senseless violence is necessary to build the suspense

I love this author and I liked this story. Was disappointed in narration. It put me to sleep. Could not tell the difference between characters.

great story, boring narrator

Would you listen to Deadly Pursuit again? Why?

Yes. It was a great story!

What did you like best about this story?

The suspense was good, and I loved the beginning relationship between the characters--very believable. I also enjoyed that it was clean without being too cheesy or preachy.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Better emotional inflection. There was no difference between when the characters were conversing normally or in the midst of an emotional crisis. It was also hard sometimes to tell the difference between some of the characters and it seemed the narrator changed his voices, and used the wrong voice for the wrong character which just added confusion.

Pleasantly Surprised

Would you consider the audio edition of Deadly Pursuit to be better than the print version?

I did not read the book but listened to the Audible version. There are some narrators I like better than others. This narrator showed a lot of feeling in the voices.

What other book might you compare Deadly Pursuit to and why?

Sandra Brown's Seeing Red is similar. A lot of drama and suspense mixed with a few surprises.

Which scene was your favorite?

Allison's compassion for children and people in need was demonstrated by her interaction with Eric in the grocery store.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Eric getting the license plate of the truck driven by Darrell. His need to help his friend and his perception that she was in trouble.

Any additional comments?

I'm a senior citizen and though I enjoy the romance and mystery, I get tired of too much detailed sex scenes. Irene Hannon does it just right.
