Publisher's Summary

Just as a murderer dumps his corpse into the lake across Valley View in Lily Dale, Bella Jordan happens to be at her window, not quite realizing what she's seeing. Unbeknownst to her, the killer spots her silhouette and prowls straight to her door. That is, until he's interrupted by a black cat. A superstitious gambler, he takes off, but Bella's seen too much, and he vows to return.

Jiffy Arden, a neighborhood kid looking for the black cat and stumbling across the killer, begins to have premonitions of being kidnapped during the season's first snowstorm. Sure enough, when it strikes, he vanishes, never arriving home from the bus stop. While her son, Max, believes Jiffy has been kidnapped, Bella is convinced he's just wandered off as he typically does...until a body shows up in the lake.

Now everyone is pulling out all the stops to find the missing child, identify the victim, and collar the killer - and fast, because he's coming for Bella next in Dead of Winter.

Unrealized

***Spoiler Alert*** The performance sounded like a a run-on announcement. It was hard to distinguish between characters and thoughts. The story just turned left out of nowhere. Nobody had common sense. You realize you're getting texts from a kidnapped little boy and you don't tell anybody, you just wonder if it could be from him....... Or you knockout an armed murderer about to kill your neighbor, and that's when you decide to having a bonding moment with her while he lies in the snow..... Oh but wait you have to take a call..............................REALLY???????? This could have been a terrific book had the story followed basic common sense. It was good enough for me to finish it. I'm just glad I didn't pay for it.

Terrible narrator. Couldn’t finish.

I was looking forward to this story but I just could not get past the narration. Her voice and cadence was terrible. Unfortunate situation.

Narratior is horrible

Pretty good story line, kinda of slow and drug out but I had to stop listentung because the narrators voice grated on my last nerve. The sound of her voice was irrating, and no emotion. I Listened to three about Lucinda and Can and they were really good. I may try to finish it. Will not listen to Melanie Ebanks again, sorry
