Reaping is hard… but in Eastwood, the dead don’t stay buried.
My name is Jazz, and I’m a Justice Reaper. Sounds grim, but it’s not all bad—I make sure the worst of the worst get what they deserve. And sometimes, that means working with the police to bring killers to justice.
Like now.
Just after my best friend joins a coven, someone starts murdering witches, and all signs point to the killer being a vampire. Because, of course. Meanwhile, my eccentric assistant—Sir Edward, who happens to be a monkey—has called in Ghost Stalkers to clear Eastwood’s underground tunnels of spectral parasites. (Yeah, that’s a thing.) Oh, and did I mention the Angel of Death? My boss is beyond pissed about something, and that’s never a good sign.
Ghosts lurking in every dark corner, supernatural killers on the loose, and a celestial higher-up breathing down my neck—just another day in Eastwood.
Join us at The Undertaker for a Bloody Mary and some ghostly fun. You’re gonna need the drink.

This is definitely not your typical murder mystery. With supernatural characters and a plot that keeps you guessing, this book is unique and intriguing. Unfortunately I didn't care for the narration, because I thought some of the voices were annoying/too forced. (of course that is only my opinion and I'm sure others will love the narration) Overall I enjoyed this book and plan to check out more titles written by Ashe.

Each of the characters had their own personality, and that helped to shape the plotline of the story. There was an awesome twist toward the end that kept me from figuring out who the real criminal was.
Even though this is #5 of a series, it’s not confusing to listen to without the first four books. The author wrote it in a way that makes it easy to drop in, but impossible to leave.
Narration was okay.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
