The discovery of a woman's body and a link to the events of 9/11 takes Detective Superintendent Roy Grace around the world in Dead Man's Footsteps. By award winning crime author Peter James, read by Daniel Weyman (Silent Witness, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power).

Amid the tragic mayhem of the morning of 9/11, failed Brighton businessman and ne'er-do-well Ronnie Wilson sees the chance of a lifeline: to shed his debts, disappear and reinvent himself in another country.

Six years later the discovery of the skeletal remains of a woman's body in a storm drain in Brighton leads Roy Grace on an enquiry spanning the globe, and into a desperate race against time to save the life of a woman being hunted down like an animal in the streets and alleys of Brighton.

Although the Roy Grace novels can be read in any order, Dead Man's Footsteps is the fourth gripping title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Dead Tomorrow and Dead Like You.

Critic reviews

Tense, beautifully paced and excellent on police atmosphere and procedure.
A real page-turner and the cliffhanging conclusion left me eagerly awaiting DS Grace's next outing.

Talks on length and very specifically with intricate details about the events of 9/11. I wasn’t even there, and I was very triggered and deeply upset listening to this author/narrator recall these events. I was 24 and in the usaf when it happened and those events still stick with me. So please be careful with this novel.

Almost every character had at least one assumed name, so it was a little confusing to me. Although I generally like this reader, it was painful listening to all of the American accents that he had to do. Usually, British performers do excellent American accents. Also, didn’t like the English voice he gave to a character. Very annoying voice. The story could have half in length and was predictable.

My least favorite book of the series
