Great start by a new author

This debut book deals with a very disturbing subject - domestic abuse and the women who remain in those relationships. Not pleasant. But the plot is decent and, for a first book, I think it’s pretty good.

The narration was okay. Personally, I would have liked a voice with a bit more gravitas but it wasn’t distracting.

I look forward to more in this series.

Amazing start to a new series!!!!

This book touched on a very sensitive and secretive subject that sadly happens in society.
The behavior of those effected by this were very real!
I had ideas on who-dun-it, towards the end of the story, and one of the people I was thinking about, did it, but I was still surprised!
The ending... !!!
I can't wait for #2!

Very dark but extremely gripping

This is about domestic abuse and a brave subject to tackle but one that needs to be done so more I think. The author has done it in such a way that is so respectful and clearly has lots of understanding on it from both sides. The characters are so believable and real and you have all the peoples sides from the victims, the police teams and the potential suspects. I couldn't stop listening to this book and the person reading it did a fantastic job, all the characters and accents, I felt them all alive with me. I hope there will be more!

Superb listen, raw, gripping and real

Wow! Just wow! Such a difficult subject to tackle but written and narrated superbly well. The characters were so real and so well narrated that I can't stop thinking about them even now! This book kept you guessing and you were never sure of anyone! I can't wait for more. This book is definitely for a mature audience with a complex adult themes and lots of characters but the narrator did a superb job and everyone was clearly defined. What a story from a clearly knowlegeable author who evoked your sympathy for every side.

Lacklustre characters

There was not one single character in this book that I could relate to, all of them were annoying in their own way, but Lucy was, without doubt, the most annoying of all. I can't really say much more about this book as I found it really irritating and don't want to post any spoilers, but I will say that this is a typical DA type thriller, evil men, weak women except for the one woman who actually turned out to be just as gullible as the rest of them. The narrator does a reasonable job but she will not become a favourite with me any time soon as she has a very young sounding voice and cannot make anything sound particularly serious.

Predictable...not good at all

Would not read again or recommend probably one of the worst I’ve listened to.
She talks about not being able to buy a book or her husband will notice it, but early on she’s reading her kindle in the bath so he wouldn’t see it anyway
