Publisher's Summary

Dan Deadman is having one of those days.

After saving the grim and gritty alien city of Down Here from something big, mean, and mind-bendingly horrible, Dan is looking forward to unwinding in the closest available bar. Annoyingly, the universe has other ideas.

Instead, Dan finds himself investigating a cheating husband, two horrible murders, and the potential enslavement of everyone in the galaxy. With his caseload stretching his woefully limited detective skills, his car in pieces, and the whole "being dead" thing not doing him any favors, Dan has no choice but to ask his friends for help.

And that's when his problems really start.

Featuring motivational gangsters, predatory worms, and a whole classroom full of defecating infants, Dead Inside is the second book in the Dan Deadman Space Detective series, and the follow-up to the best-selling Dial D for Deadman.

Gotta love Deadman, Barry, & Phil!

This is another great one of Barry’s! It’s action and comedy dancing together like hipsters at a ball....or something like that. Phil does an excellent job narrating and the ending with the mess ups is a nice addition I always look forward to! Barry and Phil better never stop doing these!

Incredible book and series, never a drop off

The entire Space Team universe is just amazing. I actually think I might like Dan Deadman, especially Arti, even a little better. Phil Thron does a spectacular job with the whole series. If you actually want to laugh and be entertained, this is a must get.

Great Book and Narration

As with the other Deadman books and the Space Team, a great combination of story telling and narration.

Love the space team series!

All the books in the space team series and the deadmans are fantastic. Phil Thorn is epic in his performance and really brings the characters to life, the outtakes at the end really make me laugh! If you haven’t heard/read the space team books, what the fonk?!! Get on it!

Slight, snarky, and a bit silly - in a good way!

If you’re looking for great entertainment rather than literary weight then this is definitely worth a credit. Although the plot resembles a series of set pieces rather than any gripping mystery there are some more meaningful moments, and it rattles along at a pace, keeping the fun elements coming in a steady stream. It’s main strengths are the core cast of characters who are well conceived and form a great tag team/triple act for most of the story, but more importantly their fantastic voicing by Phil Thron (it’s worth a credit just for his performance of Artur!). It helps to be either familiar with the Space Team setting or to have read the first Dan Deadman tale but you could definitely follow along without any background knowledge. Overall a good fun escapade with plenty of humour and a plot that’s really just an excuse for the characters to get into trouble. Lots of trouble!

Gumshoe satire

The dark future is gritty and humorously filled with a reality that rarely seems to be identified. Well worth listening to.
