Publisher's Summary

Months after the EMP, would you still be alive?

Six months after the EMP, and the collapse of the United States, no one is safe. In Lake Placid, Elliot and his family have survived the winter, but lost their home and are still struggling to stay alive through days of danger. But when Maggie learns about a compound in East Texas offering hope and safety, and Gary drops a bombshell that could divide the group, tempers flare, and a decision must be made. Who will stay and who will leave?

In a dangerous new world where survival isn't guaranteed, Elliot, Rayna, Gary, and the others must face off against the most desperate, ruthless, and brutal of society - where there is no telling who will survive.

Danger Cruelty and Sacrifice

Great action with new characters. Story of Gary and his family continues. Now traveling to Texas. Texas has its own problems. Compound in Texas is not what our original group thinks it is. Compound residents may actually be prisoners. If so our group is really walking into danger. Will definitely get the next book.Great action throughout the book.

The Best of the Series

This series just keeps getting better. In this book, the group trying to make it in Lake Placid, New York is barely surviving. Maggie hears about a refuge in East Texas. The place sounds too good to be true. Is it? Jack Hunt takes this story to a new level. And it's as scary and terrifying as it can be. And today, it rings more true than it ever has. This is all just getting too real and frighteningly close to reality. New people emerge in Jessie, Ryan, and a handful of others as the story expands. Now where will it go next? Can't wait to find out!

Kevin Pierce is never better here. He can do calm, but he can also do sinister. He's using his full range here. He's perfect as always.

Well done series

Good character development. Not too unrealistic as in prepper is some how exempt from getting shot, going hungry or worse. Overall great books.

Days of Danger Book 3

The chaos continues in Book 3 with the introduction of several new characters. One of which is Ellie who is a strong, kick-ass, no nonsense woman whom I was sad to see featured minimally in the storyline. However, whenever she did appear, she got my full attention. We get to understand more about Gill's perspective after the devastating reveal that her husband was less than loyal to their marriage. There is an interesting take on 'drug addict survival' which plays an important role in the storyline to devastating consequences. Jessie and Damian both have their own 'Rambo Moments' which were pretty unrealistic to say the least. Jessie because of the hindering circumstances leading up to it, and Damian because...come, really? In this book the group are pushed out of their comfort zones with ever dwindling resources. They make the decision to move on and have to face even stronger power struggles in uncharted territories. We will see how this all pan's out in book 4. I was given a copy of this book for free, of my choosing and have voluntarily left this review.
