Dawn of the Storm

Very fast paced audio book. Acton filled and doesn't disappoint. Lot of information bit not packed to the rafters where it can't be taken in. I totally enjoyed listening.

not bad

Good solid story, Raina Storm a deadly operative, at times seemed lacking to me. Other than that I listened to the story in one setting.

The narrator does a wonderful job in her narration.

I was provided a copy of this audible free at my request. Opinions in this review are mine and I gladly provide this review.

Strong action and even stronger heroine

I’m a fan of Kim Cresswell and this book didn’t disappoint. It begins with a bang and the pace is almost relentless as the action crosses continents. Finding a series where a woman is the main driver in the action is always refreshing. Raina Storm is a fabulous character. She’s tough as nails, lethal, and also a mother. She carries the weight that all working mothers do – how to balance being a parent with being needed to work. She’s been trained to kill, and also loves sitting and coloring. When she’s reticently called upon to infiltrate a drug cartel’s territory in Colombia in order to protect American lives, she’s willing to do it, although leaving her daughter behind nearly kills her.

I am not familiar with armaments, spying techniques, or other high-tech gadgetry, but I never felt left behind as Raina and her two colleagues travel through dangerous territory. At the end of the book, I felt I’d learned a few things to boot. I liked that the point-of-views switched between Raina and the male agent. Seeing her from an outsider’s perspective was helpful, but being inside her head was far more interesting. Witnessing her struggles first hand gave the story immediacy.

I have to give a nod to Sarah L. Colton as narrator. I don’t speak Spanish, but I’m sure her pronunciations were spot on. She handled the language, as well as technical speak, with aplomb and she added to my enjoyment of the story. Great job and can’t wait to listen to book 2.

Wow! Amazing Thriller!

This was my first Kim Cresswell's book, and won't be the last. This is the first book in the Raina Storm Action Thrillers. This is a short thriller, well written, fast-paced and action packed. Raina is a former CIA assassin, and the mother of a little girl, Jaydan. She is a kick-ass, strong, and beautiful woman. She is recruited/blackmailed to team up with Hal and Angela, a former FBI agent and an ex-intelligence officer, to hunt down terrorists. The story is short, but nothing is missing. The storyline is intricate, and filled with twists and turns. The scenery is wonderfully described, and we can easily imagine it. I love the ending. Sarah L. Colton did a great job with the narration! This is a great team author/narrator. I enjoyed my listening, and can't wait for the next book in the Series, Dawn of the Enemy. This is a crossover Series, featuring Raina and characters from Whitney Steel Romantic Action thriller Series, I would love to read this Series as well!

Dawn of the Storm

Raina is a deadly assassin/operative. She is always in hiding because of past cases and the danger to her life. A team is sent in to get her to help out against a jihadist group. One that she actually angered. This was a fun fast paced action thriller. The narration was nice and easy to listen to.

nonstop action for Raina and her team

One of the CIA's deadliest operative, Raina Storm is taking a break from her job to raise her young daughter. But life is never quiet for this operative...when a former FBI agent and ex intelligence officer track her down to help stop a terrorist plot, Raina refuses...at first...but then is blackmailed into helping. When the team, who is moving them to a safe house, is attacked, Raina accepts that she must put an end to the terrorist group before it's too late. What follows is nonstop action as Raina and her ragtag team travel to Columbia to deal with the group. You are never bored with any book by this author...on the contrary, you will be salivating for more. Like right now...I am dying to know what's Raina's next adventure...the ending of this book gives us a bit of a teaser!
I voluntarily accepted a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dawn of the Storm (Raina Storm Action Thriller #1), my first read from author Kim Cresswell. Well-written thriller with captivating, well-developed main characters, I’ll be reading more by this author and look forward to reading Dawn of the Enemy, book 2 in the series! Narrator Sarah L. Colton adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with a wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Action Packed

Full of Action from the start. The book moves fast and there is a lot of information but it's not overwhelming. The author is new to me but I look forward to seeing what else she has available.
