Dawn Again takes listeners along on Doniga’s journey, as a troubled teen attending a wilderness immersion school, where indigenous elders and wildlife trackers were among her teachers; hitchhiking across the Pacific Northwest; the moment she first connected with a deer using owl eyes; fox-walking techniques; and to Alaska, where she fell in love with tracking white wolves and the rigor of wilderness survival.
With chapters on food, permaculture, and more, Dawn Again dives into Doniga’s real-life experiences while equipping listeners with practical knowledge.
When Doniga tracks mountain lions with Erik, a rancher, she finds herself falling in love with more than just nature. She settles down on a cattle ranch on the California coast to start a family and has to learn how to apply the deep, unshakable lessons of the wild to her everyday life.

Captivated from Beginning to End
I didn’t want this story to end. It captivated me from beginning to end. I heard Warwick Schiller’s interview of Doniga on his Journey On podcast and was intrigued by her story. Her narration brings the story to life. It changed the way I look at the world now.

Amazing story of an amazing woman
I listened to this as preparation for an interview with DonigaI knew that she was a regenerative rancher, but had no idea about the crazy life that she lived before it! She does a great job writing descriptively so you can close your eyes and imagine that you are actually out in the wilderness with her!
