Enjoyed hearing this interview

I enjoyed hearing about David Suchets show/podcast about religion and what he did next. I think it's great he is helping to open up a conversation about Christianity. Very helpful.

Enjoyable listen, but vacuous.

David Suchet is a remarkable actor and I have great respect for him. This interview regards his attempt to investigate the commonality in diversity of peoples' religions. It is very sincere and fun interview.

However, his theological understanding is both trite and facile, making it a painful listen. He seems to believe that Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, because they come of the same root, are about the same and consist largely in being nice to or at least tolerating others. But while some of their teachings may be similar, the three are fundamentally different and incompatible for any holders of historic orthodoxy. Listening to this when you know something about religion is like watching people guess a password in a movie when you know how encryption works, or listening to people speak incorrect English when you know the definition of words.

I hope Audible offers Suchet's podcast again!

David Suchet is an amazing reader, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the podcast he had done for Audible. I was disappointed to learn that this interview is just over a year old, and that Suchet's podcast is no longer available. I hope Audible re-releases it!

Disappointingly one sided by born again Christian

He didn't use Hebrew names for Jewish places, despite using Arabic and English names for them. That's bad when he's claiming to talk about all three faiths equally respectfully.

Suchet is so taken by his own newfound faith he didn't notice how narrow his world view is. He seeks peace, but only on his narrow terms that leave no room for Jews to be authentically Jewish.
