Dark in all the right ways!!

This audio book was a choice of pure luck. This author is new to me and I must say, I am an absolute fan now. Although the narration could have been better, the content of the book made it impossible for me to stop listening. One of those audiobooks that you sit in the car in front of your house just so you can keep listening. I needed to know what happened next. The character development was perfection and the twists and turns where, as exhilarating as they were terrifying. I can't wait to see what's next in this series.

Amazing book!

If you’re looking for a psychological thriller look no further. Poppets character development throughout this book was electrifying. It will have you yelling WTF in one second and NO Sh** in the next!! The mind F’s that Shauna goes through is insane! I’m not going to give any spoilers- just listen to the book! You won’t regret it!! I enjoyed the audio book and look forward to reading the other via kindle or paperback.

A dark disturbing erotic and twisted tale!

What did you love best about Darkroom?

Darkroom is quite a disturbing and dark tale. The story will leave you wondering if the world is truly this disturbing. Victor seems to be a very troubled individual yet he goes after what he wants while keeping his secrets close. Shauna just wants to trust and love yet doesn’t understand the hurt, betrayal, and evilness that is lurking around. I really liked that Poppet added the alternate ending. The alternate ending related to how I thought the story would have concluded but they are both good conclusions. This is a unique psychological thriller and should not be read by anyone that cannot handle a dark read. The story is intense and by the end you will wonder what you just read.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Jim Masters did a decent job with the narration. He had a clear and crisp voice that was easy to follow. It didn’t draw me into the story, however, the content of the story did.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book that I have read by Poppet. I recommend Darkroom to anyone that enjoys a dark psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Not an enjoyable experience

Although the story was a bit confusing and pedantic, it had the potential to be an enthralling read. Unfortunately, the performance was subpar and took focus away from the story, burying its promise.
