He’s crazy powerful, and they think I could be too. But what could I possibly contribute to an exclusive squad of dragon shifters, fae, witches, and vampires?

I guess we’re about to find out because the merging of the supernatural and human realms isn’t going as smoothly as planned. If word gets out that humans are no longer safe from the supes, our worlds will once again be closed off.

It’s up to us to stop that from happening.

This is an upper YA/NA crossover with schmexy supernatural guys and is best suited for age 16 and over. Be warned, the steaminess factor does increase through the course of the series!

Darkblood Academy is set within the world of Hitched but it's not necessary to listen to that series first to enjoy this one.

Loved the story line and how it followed the Hitched series. I'm anxious to read the next book

Super fun new paranormal academy adventure

Luna is unhappy with her life, about to graduate from high school and age out of the foster care system. Since paranormals are out of the closet due to the reality dating show Hitched, Luna is so curious to meet one, but it is unlikely to happen in her small town. But one day Luna has a visitor, a half sister she never knew existed, who is planning to whisk her out of the world she grew up in to take part in the supernatural.

I wanted to read Half-Blood after I read the author's previous series Hitched and adored it. I had thought Half-Blood was set in the same world, but I had no idea that this was basically a spin off with cameo's from all my favorite cast mates from Hitched- and my favorite guy Ryder is the love interest! Once Ryder showed up, I was sold on the book (keep in mind I was already enjoying it, but Ryder makes everything better!). Keep in mind that you can read this as a standalone without having read Hitched first (Luna a brand new character), but I don't recommend it because you would miss out on all the previous world building and relationship dynamics of the side characters.

This was a nice balance of supernatural shenanigans, magical academy school drama and forbidden love angst. I flew through the pages of the book, completely engrossed in the world building and the danger, hoping for a HEA for my new favorite forbidden couple, and overall really enjoying this read. I listened to the audio and the narrator was a perfect choice for Luna, giving her just the right amount of spunk and determination as well as sounding perfectly age appropriate. I really liked this story and I can't wait to jump back into the series, be it audio or ebook.

Love this book!

I love the book so much! It’s a spin off but can definitely be enjoyed without reading the previous series. I love the characters so much! Luna finds out she’s not as human as she always thought and she also has a half sister. And now she’s thrown into a school where she has to try to make the most of her abilities and keep herself safe. I loved Luna so much! And there’s a forbidden desire for a certain demon teacher and there’s also the winter prince. I can’t wait to see what will happen next!

Suspenseful, magical with plenty of action!

A good start on a new series. Luna (our heroine) discovers she has a half sister. She learns from her half sister that their dad was a powerful warlock. She is taken to a school to help uncover any supernatural powers she may have within her and learn magic. But learning how to use these powers may not be what others want. Waiting for next book. Good narration

I’m soooo happy I started listening to this series!!! I’ve heard nothing but good things & im happy to say they’re all right!!! Love it

Awesome story

This story has me glued to it. I didn’t want to stop listening at all. The performance was awesome and entertaining. It was easy to follow along with who was speaking. Loved loved loved the book and am looking forward to listening to book 2.

G.K.DeRosa is such an outstanding author she does not disappoint you with this book. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book.Whitney Dykhouse did such an outstanding job doing the voice of Luna giving her the right amount of spunk & Determination. I highly recommend everyone to listen to this audiobook

I so can't want to find out what will happen next. At first I didn't think i was going to like this book. But as the story goes on I got more into. And wanting to know what with happen next. And finding out that Luna lands up become part of the in group and finding out why she was ask to go to this school. I really can't wait to see what happens next
