Too much of a multiply good thing.
This book is intriguing in the beginning and the 'desperate time travel to find lost love' story will keep you happily listening for the first 5 hours. But I personally lost patience with the conflict between the hero and heroin rather quickly. It takes hours and hours to resolve for reasons it's very hard to care about and the sick jealousy between the lovers was, for me, very hard to take. I found the last 6 hours quite tedious and was well past caring whether the warrior could say 'I love you' or not by the end. (It also seems a bit much to repeat the 'greatest sexual experience ever' six or seven times in one book. I mean - when you've made multiple orgasms tedious, I think it's time to put down your pen and wrap things up.)

Bad reader, good story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I had to stop and buy the book and read it! good story I wanted to hear. I thought I could get through reader as Brenda writes a good story. Just could not do it.
If you’ve listened to books by Brenda Joyce before, how does this one compare?
If this was at $5.95 Ok, a full credit, NO way!
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jennifer Van Dyck?
Ms Gabra Zackman, Natalie Ross.
Jennifer van dyck is just awful.
Was Dark Rival worth the listening time?
I had to stoP

Some like 'em hot...
I like a good romance sometimes...some books make me think so much I feel exhausted at the end..Brend Joyce does such a great job with romance novels...I have a great deal of her books and love them all..the female is a typical female and I know it will enrage alot of the feminist out there..but I think the point is that he takes care of her. Good book.

Couldn't wait for the wrap up!
I wanted to listen to this book because I liked some of the other books in this series. So regardless of the reviews, I jumped in anyway. OMG, I couldn't wait for it to end. By the 2nd half, I was so sick of hearing "What does that mean?" There were parts of the story that kept my attention, but it was hard getting past the idiot heroine. I have to agree to another reviewer that the author made her "silly" to put herself in constant danger for love. Once, maybe twice, but throughout the whole story! Three stars for overall story but you'll need patience to make it to the end.

triple, double, negative star
If there was a triple, double negative star rating this book would have gotten it. I normally based most of my choices, by reveiws concerning a book, by others AUDIBLE READERS who have read the book,I judge a book on the development and strenght of the characters and the flow of the story. THIS BOOK IS JUST WRONG. tHERE IS NO JUSTICE. where do these authors get there inspiration,My OMG, This is the 21 century, (come on authors join us) does this author believes, that a sniveling female who don't know her a--- from a hole in the ground. I mean did author believe that a character who continually put her self in dangerous situations when told not to, was appealing or belevable. Every one just went on and on how great the story is, Or maybe some people enjoy reading about a sniveling female, who is absolutely clueless, Or maybe they are getting paid or maybe they are the authors friend. Did the author mean to make this character look stupid, I mean recognizing this is fiction, did she expect us to believe that "WOMAN" during mideval times would be walking around in a clingy shirt dress, at a stormkeep???????? One aspect of fiction is, as a reader recognizing that a great many works are not true, but you have to admire the authors for the characters that are developed, the origin-ality of the story line. The possibility of this happened to someone or something like this? The strenght of the characters, I hate to stop reading a book, once I start I want to finish, no matter how bad it is, this book I just could not. The characters development, just drove me STARK RAVING MAD!!! Did it get any better after chapter 15? This book was even it in the wrong genre, maybe "what is wrong with book?Who wants to be a writer! or Writer Idol, DO NOT WASTE YOUR CREDITS I have never requested a refund on a credit. I WILL BE EMAILING AUDIBLE TO SEE IF i CAN GET MY CREDITS BACK!!!!!! I can do no less. AND I will never forgive my self if I don't

Beyond annoying heroine
I enjoyed the narrator’s performance. However, the heroine was beyond annoying. That child (yes, child) had no impulse control. She’s like a horror movie character—the character that is so dumb you start cheering for the villain. I skipped parts to avoid the heroine’s dramatics. Oiy vey!
