What Cost Is Too High?
This was my first experience with Joanna White's work and it was interesting and thought provoking. King Vaxon wants all the mages dead that participated in a rebellion against him. He has tasked his son with the job of killing all the remaining mages including some that are Kyren's friends. In order to ensure that Kyren fulfills this task, the King has taken his son's wife and children as hostages. This tale is about the struggle between what a man will do to keep his family safe versus what actions just have too high a cost to perform. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to others who like this genre. Albie Robles' narration is great and brings the characters to life with his performance. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Can Kyren be redeemed?
Dark Magi is Book 1 in The Republic Chronicles. Joanna White has written a fast paced story full of magic/betrayal/redemption. Albie Robles is the narrator and he gives a good performance. King Vaxon is a cruel and sadistic man. He is mighty in dark magic. The King wants to kill the Magi who serve God and his Son. The King plots to use his son, Kyren, who follows the Son, to kill the Magi. Dark Magi is good vs evil and God’s redemption

Dark Magi
This one was a new one for me by Joanna White. It kept me interested and second guessing everything I thought was going to happen. Will Kyren do whatever it takes to keep his family safe? Even killing innocents? If you enjoy this genre then this book is for you.
Albie Robles is a new narrator for me and did a great job.
