Distorted Love, book 1:
I loved him from the age of 16. Hated him from the age of 18. He disappeared at the age of 19.
We started off as enemies, then fast became lovers. But our story isn’t a happily ever after. It was a story of a king and a peasant. Can you guess which I was? I knew we weren’t meant to be. You see, he fell in love with her first. He loved me last. I'm not someone’s second choice. Not even for the boy who stole my heart. I'm someone’s first. Now, I just have to remember that.
Sinister Love, book 2:
He was a drug I couldn’t kick. I’d overdosed on him before. It didn’t turn out well.
I was stupid enough to let him crack my heart, in hopes we would fall off the same cliff together. No matter how much my idiotic heart wanted to love him, my head knew better. He didn’t choose me. He chose her. That’s where the problem started. Maybe that’s how it should end.

The narration was great. Ava Erickson is one of the best female narrators and Aiden Snow one of the best male.
The story line was pretty exciting with lots of twists and turns. Kept you on your toes. Olivia was a liar and got what she deserved. The rest worked out. Good book.

These fucken crazy ass books were a roller coaster of emotions, cliffhangers, angst, lust, revenge and LOVE.❤️ I mean it in a good way if you like all that kind of stuff. The narration was on spot very few books have grasped me from begging to end and I couldn’t stop listening. These books are well worth the price of one credit…ENJOY❣️

And him, what a ridiculous twat. He didn’t deserve anyone. I was hoping someone would kill him. I didn’t think I would say this, but Olivia was the only one who ended up with sense.

What made this book so odd is that the protagonists fall for each other in high school. That is charming enough, but the oddities then start piling on, such as Rikan's father is a criminal. He isn't ever specifically painted as being in the mafia, but his criminal colleagues with whom he collaborates are an MC.He begins heavily encouraging Rikan to drop out of school almost the moment he turns 18 because he wants Rikan to take over hiscriminal empire, which mainly consists of trafficking young women. Rikan agrees. Rikan's father wants Rikan to hitch his wagon permanently to Livia, even though it is Livia's cousin Saskia with whom he is in love. He gives Saskia the nickname Barbie because she is blonde and beautiful. They continue to rendezvous even as he becomes the head of a vile group of criminals.
Throughout the novel, there is a character who speaks with a digitally altered voice as he/she goes to Confession. This adds a nice suspense to the story, and I admit that I totally didn't see who it actually ended up being.
It becomes obvious to Livia that Rikan loves Saskia, so she begins doing malicious things in an effort to manipulate Rikan into choosing her once and for all. To that end, when Rikan kills a member of the MC because he was about to kill Saskia, the MC's president demands a "life" to satisfy some arbitrary rule set up long ago. So Rikan actually goes to Saskia to tell her she is going to be selected, but he has so graciously negotiated on her behalf that she will only be gone 6 months, and the President cannot SA her, though enough awful things will happen to her so as to make her a completely different person. Weird! She doesn't put up much of a fight and accepts her fate.
When Livia's machinations come to light, Rikan sends her packing and goes to rescue his true love. The remainder of the book then begins feeling like a usual romance tome. Keep in mind this all takes place within a couple of years of their being high school students!! Time elapses are only mentioned briefly as "a year later" twice.
This is probably nitpicking, but once flaws start showing themselves, others become glaring. This is noted by the strange names of characters. The author gives us such monikers as Rikan, Saskia, Stiles, and Kane.
Bottom line: Should've known this coaster was destined for a coarse and odd ride when I couldn't easily get beyond the first few chapters. Character names should have also been a clue. Even a twisty little mystery isn't enough to save this trek through an incredulous tour. Aiden Snow and Ava Erickson's narrations are perfection, but listen to this one if you're bored.
