Charles Powell’s life is filled with remarkable memories, from his childhood amid the 1960s fight for civil rights in Mississippi to his 1980s midnight encounters with Soviet spies during the Cold War, life as a bodyguard for royalty, and working undercover in the War on Drugs. Powell spent his 20s and 30s experiencing a level of danger that few men survive.

Dangerous Skills: Fearing What the Night Brings chronicles the life of Charles Powell beyond midnight meetings, undercover drug buys, and life and death decisions made in the blink of an eye. It also tells the human side...what drives a man to choose such a life in the first place? This book reveals just how a painful childhood experience can alter the course of one's life.

Today, as the founder of Dangerous Skills LLC, he offers real-world expertise in the areas of industrial and personal security, business, marketing, and social media.

In listening to this book I couldn’t help but find myself in the shoes of the author. Not that I’m dangerous but in the internal struggle between wanting to please God and yet still being a man. Some of these stories I’ve heard but still found myself emotionally attached and unable to stop listening. I highly recommend this book as more than entertainment or education but as ministry to REAL people in a REAL world.
