The responding officer, Nathan Yazzie of the Navajo Nation Police Department, holds himself to the impossible standard of his police lieutenant uncle. When ancient potsherds are uncovered on the property, Maggie’s late father is suspected of artifact looting, and her inheritance becomes the center of a growing mystery.

Determined to prove her father’s innocence, Maggie dives into the investigation, even as the danger intensifies. As they race to uncover the truth, Maggie and Nathan must navigate escalating attacks, buried secrets, and their growing attraction to one-another.
