amazing book

I really enjoyed this paranormal thriller mystery. definitely a different type of mystery than I usually read and a bit dark, and a little romance in it too. I really enjoyed this narrator, his voice brought the characters to life.

Absolute Perfection!

Dance of the Mourning Cloak is a murder mystery, wrapped in a ghost story, weaved around a love story. Chase Bishop is just trying to find out who killed his sister. After being nearly run over by Melinda Bradley, he finds that she has a strange connection to the case and asks for her help. Melinda, what with feeling guilty for nearly killing Chase agrees. No spoilers here, suffice to say that Melinda’s connection isn’t the only strange thing afoot! C.J. Warrant pens a story that is so well done, so engrossing, so perfect it took my breath away! I finished it early this morning and I just can’t get it out of my mind! I was completely captivated. A few times I had to pause, sit back and take a minute to absorb what I had just heard, to process that people could be that evil. The narration was fantastic, the pace perfect and the flow smooth. Dance of the Mourning Cloak will make you laugh, make you cry, make you want a HEA for Chase and Melinda, and keep you guessing until the very last chapter is finished! I loved it. It was the whole package, it was perfection!

Unexpected Happenings Right From The Start

This is my first book by this author, I liked it and the main characters and thought the author did an excellent job drawing us into Chase's story. He came home from one of his long haul trucking jobs to find Cassie his little sister dead. As their parents are both dead Cassie, who has some mental problems, had been left with a man they both looked on as an uncle. In an attempt to find out what happened Chase followed a lead that took him to Dark Hollow Lake where he met Melinda Bradley almost as soon as he arrived. She decides to help him in his quest and they form an undeniable connection whilst they experience so many unexpected happenings right from the start.

Chase discovers that he has a connection to this town, he can see people’s auras so he knows if they are lying and what they are feeling and as Chase and Melinda try to find Cassie’s killer other murders occur and you can't help but be enthralled by what is happening, murder, mystery, ghosts and spirits! What more could we ask for? Oh and as for the Mourning Cloak to find out what this is and discover what Chase and Melinda do you will have to download the book yourself, no more spoilers from me.

The storyline is good but is made even better by the narration of Daniel Caravetta who does an excellent job with all the characters.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
