Tim Matheson writes with honesty. His stories about being raised by his mother were heartfelt. His time in the Marine Corps Reserves was fascinating. What an amazing career that has stood the testimate of time. I bet there is still a few Belushi stories to be told, haha. He's a complete story teller and it shows in his directing abilities. Great book!

Mr. Matthieson if you please!

"Damn Glad to Meet You" is a memoir that is written by Tim Matheson and it is fantastically written and performed. From his beginnings in Hollywood through his Marine training and past Animal House and Fletch and much more , Tim Matheson narrates his life story that is not only full of the great Hollywood stories but personal stories of his life which are not only funny but moving as well.

Tim Matheson gives the listener/reader a tour through the life of a life long Hollywood actor but also a human being which feels like he is sitting down with you and telling you these stories of Hollywood and his life. This is a fantastic audiobook that comes with a pdf of pictures that came with the actual physical media book itself. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is a fan of memoirs . You won't regret it.

Matheson, who lacks a moral compass in many instances, has had an interesting and event filled life. This book is all Hollywood so do not expect this to be an intellectual pursuit. Just liberal behavior bouncing from opportunity to opportunity. Fun read.

Interesting and Informative

Overall wonderful listen. The emphasis on certain areas of the book the ups the Downs made you feel like you were there sometimes.

His amazing storytime of all his experiences from all my childhood familiar actors and actresses

Some of his personal choices I didn't agree with, but that is what makes us different people.

His story was much deeper and diverse than I ever realized.

There's more to Tim Matheson than meets the eye. The beginning of the book deals with his personal life as a boy growing up in circumstances that are less than ideal. Once he begins talking about his career, his family is only inserted where there are big events. He talks about his own feelings toward wives and family, but, for the most part, this story is career-driven once he has one. That's not a bad thing.

I loved the stories about "Animal House" and his mishaps along the way to a sustainable career. He is very animated in the telling of his life and takes the high road when things weren't going well with co-workers and business partners. If you want a book where someone dishes dirt, tabloid-style, this isn't it. That probably speaks volumes about his real-life character.

I highly recommend it!

Extremely entertaining

Sharp-eared historian types might notice some minor holes in his timeline, but overall, Matheson does a great job of relating his story. At times it was belly-laugh funny; at others, almost tear inducing. And why didn’t a trivia nerd like me not know he was the voice of Johnny Quest? His personable delivery made the story even more enjoyable and easy to digest. You can almost imagine him saying to you, “Damn glad to meet you.”Well worth the listen!

A great memoir

These kinds of bio novels have started to become my favorites. The ones that involve somebody who knows that if they take themselves too seriously, they will ruin the original goal of their writing. Matheson knows how to display his numerous flaws (usually dealing with the opposite sex, and his lack of understanding about them) – if only for a second – and then move on. Those that want a tell-all book that becomes a therapy session for the author who spends much of their time asking for your forgiveness for their sins? Move along. This isn’t it.

What Matheson does do is give you a ton of snippets from his life, weave them together with great inflection and a strong sense of humor, and deliver a lighthearted autobiography. Makes you laugh, makes you roll your eyes, makes you think about your own strengths and weaknesses, and by the time you’re done, you have a great feeling about Tim, and how imperfect this life is, but also how you can still come out on top despite the imperfections. Highly recommend the read.
Oh yes, I would also agree with some of the other reviewers in that: those that are in the market for a conversational narrator? Tim is your guy.
