Publisher's Summary

Alannah Ryan had always suffered in silence, until that silence became so deafening she spilled secrets that she never intended to. At one point in her life, she yearned for adventure, a nail biting journey...something other than the mundane life she led. Her pleas were answered in the form of a tall, handsome heartbreaker with a mop of white hair.

Alannah's dreams for an exciting twist in her life were shattered because of a teenage mistake. One that has haunted her for over five years and left her in pieces. Damien Slater was the reason for every bad thing in the lives of those he loved most. A decision he made when he was just 15 destroyed his brothers' lives, and there was nothing he could do to change the things they had endured. Ruining them hurt, but ruining the only woman who wanted him for more than one night hurt a hell of a lot more.

Running away helped Damien heal, and returning to Ireland only caused Alannah more pain. Pain he intended to eradicate and replace with the passion he knew they both shared. Breaking down her walls was not the only challenge Damien faced. Another had plans of his own, and his intentions weren't for physical vengeance but something far worse.

Damien values Alannah above all else, and what Damien values, Damien fights for.

Best book in the series I think

I admit I only listened to Dominic and Alec’s books because the immature nature of the heroines in those books (Bronag & Keela) really got on my nerves. I skipped the other books in the series to this one just because I was curious on how Damien would make things right with Alana. I’m so glad I did.I loved how humble Damien became and what a nice person Alana is. What a nice change from the other stories. Again the narration was troublesome. I hate how she does the male voices. Actually it’s almost like she doesn’t even try to change her voice only the accent. I gave 2 stars only because the Irish accent is pretty good and god knows I couldn’t read an audible book to save my life.

You got to love the Slater Brothers!!

I’ve enjoyed every book in this series, every brother and their girls. I was happy to finally get Damien’s story and L.A. Casey does not disappoint. Damien was the protected brother, as with all the brothers he has a dark history and we find out more about it in his story. Nice to see he has fought his demons and is back home with his brothers and try to get Alannah back, he broke her heart when he could not give her his. Can Alannah forgive him & let him back in? Thank you L.A. Casey for another great read. I a

I listen to the audio version, Mia Aherne does a wonderful job narrating the story and bringing the characters and story to life. She performed the voices of all the different characters, switching back & forth effortlessly keeping the story in a perfect flow Thank you for the great listen.

I love Damien and Alannah story

Damien and Alannah had a rough start when they were in high school, Damien left so they didn't see each other for five years. When Damien came back Alannah was still mad and tried to stay away from him but she couldn't get him out of her head. The chemistry between was undeniable no matter how much she try to fight it. I love them together and I enjoyed their journey to each other.

Weak

I think I know why I put off picking up reading this installment in the series for 3 years. I was terrified it wouldn't measure up to the high drama of the others. And it didn't. At all. I think my biggest problem with it is I know both Damien and Allanah and their history pretty well from the snippets in the other books, so all that was left is them getting over their history and getting together. All the other story threads either didn't have a resolution or were brushed over too quick for me. And the ENTIRE group, including the supposed love of Allanah's life and her life long bestie treated her like a child then kinda manipulated her into accepting their apology. Kinda weak TBH.

Get ready to grovel Mr Slater

The quieter, enigma that is Damien Slater now has his time to shine and show us his real self in this book. Love that Alana doesn't just cave. She makes him work for her time.
Fantastic addition to the series and a must read

Not as good as ‘Dominic’

So I bought the ebook Dominic, the first in this series. I loved it, despite the mixed reviews. Maybe it’s because I’m British, being a neighbour to Ireland I got the humour and ‘earthiness’ more than some across the pond. Anyway, this one was a damp squib in comparison. For this book I got the audio and was disappointed with the narrator. In any case I persevered to halfway through this long book and got little romance, while the rest of the story could not sustain this by itself. DNF. I would however highly recommend the first in this series ‘Dominic’. Especially if you liked Beautiful Disaster.

well that was a twist

this book started off much like Bronagh....it didn't seem too in depth about anything just a story of Alannahs daily life.
I had suspicions ss I continued but was completely sucked in to "just another story"
so when the twist came I sat up and my jaw dropped.
I do think Alannah could have had more to say as it was a doozy of a revelation but Ms Casey decided otherwise.
so this plotline is twofold. all quiet and unassuming then bam!
I still think Dominic had the most action and angst in the series, Alec was the steamiest, Kane's book was a surprise and Ryder's was hot on the heels of dominics as far as angst is concerned.
Mia did well with her brogue as usual, and as I've said before, it's a pity it's not narrated with a male as well as this series has some grit with gutwrenching backstories that could have been heightened with a deep gravelly tone.
but otherwise it was great reading. I only read Bronaghs book and then decided to leave the other girls, but I will listen to Alannahs and of course the summation "Brothers" going to miss these boys

I have loved this series up until this book

I don't know what happened but the story just fell short. Ryder had really given me hopes for a banging finish thinking Alannah would be put thru the wringer and it was all just school yard bickering.

if you were hoping for hostage situations and a real emotional rollercoaster. you might as well try a different book as this one was more like a light and airy read for someone that isn't really into romantic novels with a bang.
