Lucy Bingham is a woman whose father abandoned her as a young girl. Years later, she finds that he has been living a life without her just a few miles away from her home in Boulder. He had been living in the small town of Niwot Colorado.

Unfortunately, she only learns this when her father dies, leaving her his ranch and an unbelievable amount of money.

Her life changes, but she falls for the ranch manager Dave Winston. She thinks Dave is a brain-dead, too long on the farm cowboy when they first meet, but she learns to respect his way of life and comes to love him as Lucy finds and makes the family she's always wanted.
