I'm not okay and if you listen to this book you know why I'm saying this. Honestly Leia Stone's books just keep getting better and better. I love all of her books, but I think this one might be my new favorite one. Also just a warning there is a cliffhanger and it is one of her worst ones so far. Overall highly recommend listening to this book written by Leia Stone and narrated by Vanessa Moyen, because you can't get any better then these two.

Slow Burn

If you’re looking for a good slow burn with some added paranormal drama this one’s for you. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Don't let the book cover turn you away

For a shifter werewolf story, this one stood out as refreshingly unique. Leia Stone really knows how to write engaging and entertaining characters. The FMC brought great humor to every situation, which made her easy to root for.

Be prepared to commit to both books—the first is focused on character development and world-building, while the second book delivers all the action. The romance is a very slow burn with minimal spice and a bit of uncertainty around who the love interest will ultimately be, which adds some intrigue.

If you’re looking for a fun, light shifter story with strong character dynamics and a solid plot, I definitely recommend giving this one a try!

Sucked me in immediately

I made the mistake of starting this before bed and was immediately sucked into the story. I stayed up way too late listening and finished it the next day. Vanessa Moyen is the perfect reader for the sassy and bold main character.

What a great story! The characters are well developed and the narrator is my favorite. I love Leía Stone's stories. She is superb and Vanessa Moyen brings them to life. You will love this journey. My only complaint--too short!

Fantastic start to a new series, HOWEVER, I would strongly warn anyone to NOT GET THIS BOOK until book 2 is released... it ends in one of the worst cliffhangers I've ever encountered and now I'm extremely PISSED 😑

Amazing read leaves you on the edge of your seat

I love this so much keeps me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what’s to come can’t wait to read the second novel. Averly is such a strong independent female lead i loved her energy throughout the book. Definitely recommend

The plot of the story really kept my interest.

Overall, I really liked this one. There were some nitpicky things that I wasn't on board with but as a whole, I enjoyed reading this. I really liked all of the world-building and all the different elements of the world. I thought that there was a little too much telling instead of showing and a lot of info dumping though. I really loved Averly's character in the beginning. She was strong and capable - just my favorite kind of heroine. Later in the story when the romance was introduced, Averly became too whiny for my tastes. There is a sorta-ish love triangle in this one and it really dominated a good portion of the story. While I definitely think it needed page time, I also think that it needed a little more in other areas. The romance was really convoluted but I think that it sort of had to be. I don't want to give anything away so I'll put a pin in it right there. You'll just have to read it to see what I mean. I really liked the secondary characters and how they were incorporated into the story. Each character felt distinct and had his or her own personality that stood apart from other characters. The story wasn't perfect but the plot of the story really kept my interest. I am looking forward to continuing to find out what happens next.
