If you think I have it all, you're wrong.

I’m Morgana Silk and I'm a hybrid. Daughter of the Fae Storm King, my mother's witch family has wanted me dead since I killed her in childbirth. Fun. Right? Yeah. Until one day, I wake up with a dead body in my bed, and find myself framed for the murder of a highly respected alpha.

Grayson Xenos is tailing me. He's as handsome as his jaguar is deadly, and I certainly didn't expect him to have my back. The enemy has an evil magic I can't face on my own, and Grayson needs me to help him just as much as I need him. He's a temptation I can't ignore nor deny. I have the power to unmask the hidden enemy and he has the power to take them down.

But only if I can embrace the heritage I’ve avoided for so long….

I really enjoyed listening to the Curse of Iron. There is action right from the start when she wakes up with a dead body in her bed! The narration pulls you into the book so you can visualize what is going on the whole way through. I can’t wait to listen to another great book like this!

I am a avid reader of RH books. I consume them like I do air so imagine my surprise to find a book outside of the RH genre that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The main reason I liked the book, I like being able to identify with the lead character is some way. While the book maybe fiction, some of the situations are based in reality. The feelings of betrayal by people you thought you could trust. Finding trust and connections in the people who you thought hated you for who you are/were. All these things I identified with in this book. Showing strength to stand up to those you thought friends is an amazing quality in Morgana.

Another thing is because of my schedule, I love audio books. The voice of the reader was not to my liking. Her voice for the male characters was sub-par. At times I felt like I should have been reading the book because the voice did not engage me when I know that section of the book would have been a lot more intense if I was reading. For example, (possible spoiler), when Morgana and Grayson go to his apartment after the memorial service. I thought I could have felt more of the tension between them if I read the book verses listening to it. Which is why I didn't give the book 5 stars.

I can't wait for book 2. I want to see what other troubles Morgana gets into and to see where the relationship between Grayson and Morgana will lead.

Surprisely Good

I love a good paranormal book and this was definitely one of them. Great plot around Morgan a half fae princess and a with in Morgan's line. With the help of her friends she sets out to prove her innocence and to discover who set her up with the dead alpha body. With so many after and against her learning to trust herself, her powers, and her instincts prove to be the greatest asset she could have.

Enjoyed this.

Curse of Iron by D.D. Miers and Graceley Knox is full of vibrant imagery. The characters are well developed. I enjoyed the dilemma of who to trust. The combination of fae and witch for a family was interesting premise. Astrid Morgan was great bringing the characters to life. This is the a standalone listen and beginning of new series.
