He’s running from his past....

Abandoned in the small town of Three Lakes by his abusive ex and with no money, Corey Davis is at the end of his rope. When he accepts assistance from an older man, he’s sure the guy is way too hot to be trusted and he’s determined not to risk his heart again. But Three Lakes - and Brady - hold a magic of their own and Corey soon finds himself at a crossroads. New opportunities abound - including love - if only he is brave enough to hold onto them.

Unfortunately, Corey’s been in trouble before - the kind of trouble that could put Brady's career in jeopardy. So, even if Three Lakes is the perfect place for a new start, staying could put everyone in danger. Brady says he’s willing to risk it all, but will that still be true when he finds out the dark truth that Corey has been hiding?

Enjoyable series with each as standalone

I'm loving this series! Lots of great characters, nothing too heavy, and great narration. Sasha Goldie creates characters that are different from each other and shows how they come together into a sweet and sexy couple. There's not a lot of heat, but it's steamy enough! Richard Reynolds does a great job narrating and really fits the series well

Each can be read as a standalone since the characters from previous stories are not integral to the next.

I received an audio copy of this story in exchange for an unbiased review.

Fun sexy read!

Romantic story with lots of fun moments - you don't need to have read the first one but there is some crossover so it wouldn't hurt!

So Sweet!

Just the story you want on a cold, shivery afternoon. Sweet, low angst, and enough heat to warm your cheeks.

Narrator Richard Reynolds makes you want to move to a small town.

WORDS CAN HURT

Brady, a deputy of Three Lakes, meets Corey, a runaway who has just dumped his boyfriend. They become friends and Corey is at a crossroads in his life as whether to stay with Brady or leave Three Lakes. Sasha has written a great book on misconception of words and anger. Sasha also shows great strength in her characters.

The narrator does a superb rendition of the characters’ voices and keeps the listener in the moment.

It's not the bruises on the body that hurt.

It is the wounds of the heart & scars on the mind. ~Aisha Mirza
This book is tied for my favourite in this series. Corey really stole my heart from the beginning. I loved his sassy, colourful, guarded attitude. Brady was the perfect fit for Corey. He took time to break down all of his walls and was so gentle and patient with him. My favourite part was when Brady got a chance to kick Voldemort's ass (he who shall not be named lol). This plot had more suspense and definitely kept me on my toes. I was wondering when Corey was wandering around the town if Voldemort would catch him and how it would be dealt with. I also liked how the author kept the characters all tied together and frequent throughout the series even if they went from main characters to side. I was provided with a copy and voluntarily chose to leave a review. This is my honest review.

Cop and felon???

Poor Corey gets one obstacle after another in his life path. My heart just ached for him. Brady is his hero and savior throughout the story, and I liked that aspect. John, the ex was a nasty piece of work that found karma. On to book 3. Loving this series. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

good second instalment

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
Was there anything that didn't work for me? nope - all good.
What did I like about the story? good pace, sweet story and great characters. Another delightful story of opposites attract when the town deputy meets his match in a young man escaping from an abusive past. Can Corey put his trust and heart in Brady, the sweet, sexy, sliver fox deputy who helped him or will Corey's secrets tear them apart?

Narrator comment: Richard Reynolds has done a good job bringing Crossroads to life. The characters personalities come through and the emotions and intonations are all in the right places. I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book.

New town, new life

The narration was great and I especially loved Brady's voice. The voice give him the hot cop image. It was easy to tell the two main characters apart from the different voices used. It makes it easier to remember who is talking at the time.
The story itself was good. Corey is offered a chan6to start a new life with the help of Brady. Of course he puts a tough battle, but one can only fit so long when they have a hot cop wooing them.
This was the first book by this author that I have listened ot or read. The book had me putting Shasha on my author's to read list.
