  • From pagan to pastor: how I found God and my purpose
    Jan 11 2026

You can be searching for meaning everywhere—in religion, in politics, in service—and still feel utterly broken inside. What if that deep emptiness is the one thing blocking your healing from PTSD and anxiety?

Justin McLane shares a powerful story of radical transformation. Raised in an anti-Christian home, Justin spent nearly 28 years actively practicing paganism... in an attempt to fill a persistent void and overcome a deep feeling of emptiness.

As a U.S. Army Combat veteran, Justin recounts how his internal battles with PTSD, depression, and anxiety mirrored his external search for meaning. His journey to faith began when he made a conscious decision to quest: Was it truly possible that God existed? As his honest quest led him to a personal relationship with God, his mindset changed, and his mental health followed: the PTSD, depression, and anxiety all melted away.

However, his conversion created new divisions: both his parents and other relatives stopped speaking to him... Justin uses his experience to address why we stop communicating with people we disagree with and shares the crucial need to keep the lines of dialogue open.

Now a full-time pastor, Justin proves that you can anchor yourself in faith and truly unleash your potential. In this episode, he shares how it felt to have the absence of God in our life.

He also gives us the exact practical, actionable strategies that will bring small - but fundamental - changes in our life. With consistency, those steps into a new realm help us to develop a personal relationship with God and to find freedom from the internal and external conflicts that divide us.

Topic covered: how to fill a void in life, why do i feel empty inside, lost spiritual meaning, spiritual awakening, searching for purpose, conversion from paganism to christianity, ex pagan finds God, starting a relationship with God, Christian healing ptsd, faith over depression and anxiety, military veteran ptsd faith, how to talk to family about faith, religious family conflict, Justin mclane pagan to pastor.

  • Faith and forgiveness: your healing blueprint
    Dec 28 2025
If you have been deeply hurt in some way, you know how difficult it is to forgive and move on. You might feel uncertain on what the future holds for you. Today, Helen Glanville shares with us a powerful, deeply personal story of love, loss, and public judgment that led her to a profound truth: faith is the only anchor in uncertainty. Helen faced intense scrutiny after falling in love with a lawyer involved in one of Australia's most publicized white-collar crimes. She discovered that her survival—and healing—depended on the radical choice to forgive. Helen found peace in prayer, learned to trust God's timing, and witnessed how grace can transform even the hardest circumstances. We discuss why forgiveness is an act of spiritual courage that offers immediate physical benefits. Did you know that chronic anger and bitterness elevate stress hormones and contribute to long-term health issues? Forgiveness is indeed key to restoring internal peace. Learn how Helen turned her hardest circumstances into a life of service, co-founding Second Chances SA—a charity helping the families of prisoners. Her journey proves that when life breaks you open, letting that space become service brings the greatest healing, redeeming both purpose and identity. Topics covered: forgiveness, healing, prisoners families, faith, anchor, service, Gods timing, second chances Find Helen here: https://helenglanville.com/ Video link: https://youtu.be/WxrQ84O7CnY Go Deeper on the Science of Bipolar Disorder: You might be interested in exploring forgiveness for cases when the crime is committed by a person suffering from serious mental illness which causes violent behaviour. The groundbreaking work of Dr. William Walsh, a leader in nutritional psychiatry, might prove to be an interesting dive in this field. His research, which started by studying the biology of violent behavior, reveals that Bipolar Disorder is likely a "channelopathy"—a condition caused by vulnerable ion channel and DNA repair genes. This discovery explains the mystery of mood switching and points to specific, nutrient-based treatments. For a full breakdown of the genetic, chemical, and nutritional factors at the root of conditions like Bipolar Disorder and criminal behavior, learn more about Dr. Walsh's book, The Essence of Bipolar Disorder. https://amzn.to/3WplER3 (Please note that this is an affiliate link and I do receive a tiny compensation if a book is purchased through it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ppeSv22A9A&t=4114s If you do not wish to click on the links: Dr. Walsh's key discovery is that Bipolar Disorder, which has long baffled researchers, appears to be a "channelopathy." The Cause: Bipolar Disorder is viewed as a vulnerability rooted in specific ion channel genes (which regulate neurotransmission) and DNA repair genes. The Mechanism: This genetic weakness makes individuals highly vulnerable to oxidative assault (chemical damage). The resulting malfunction in ion channels explains the classic, rapid "switching" between mood states (from normal to mania to depression).Wider Impact: Weak DNA repair genes not only contribute to mood disorders but also accelerate aging and can lower life expectancy, connecting mental and physical health in a profound way. Dr. Walsh's work, which began by studying the biology behind violent and criminal behavior, shifts the focus from purely psychological causes to identifiable, treatable biotypes—paving the way for highly individualized nutrient protocols for treatment and prevention. This scientific perspective changes our mindset when we have a spiritual discussion about forgiveness: Forgiveness and Understanding: When dealing with criminals or those who cause life-long damage, it's vital to remember that some actions may be driven by biological vulnerabilities (like a channelopathy) that strip them of the capacity for typical decision-making. Understanding the biological cause can lead to compassion and informed public policy, even if personal forgiveness remains a long journey and a personal decision.Forgiveness and Health: The same oxidative stress that contributes to bipolar disorder is often exacerbated by chronic psychological stress, proving that faith practices like forgiveness are a form of biochemical self-care. 🚀 The path to Your brilliant future starts here.
