Publisher's Summary

Brooklyn Johnson had it all - money, jewels, designer clothes, a successful modeling career, and men falling at her feet. Now she's struggling to keep up the facade. When life was good, she wasn't always good to those around her. Even as she developed a drug addiction and struggled to maintain her sanity, she never felt she needed anyone. Now that an illness has turned her life upside down, she finds herself having to make amends with all the people she's wronged.

Cover Girl is the riveting tale of a woman trying to regain the self-respect she lost in the process of running the streets. Not all drug addicts start off on the wrong track, but most end up at the same destination - in need of a hand to pull them up from the depths.

The scene between sincere and brooklyn

The conversation between Sinclair and Brooklyn was literally dead out of another book I don't remember if Britney is the person that wrote the book but the conversation was the same from a completely different book. they had kids together and they had been fighting due to infidelity from him and they had a conversation where he apologized and he wanted to be cordial for the sake of their daughter and the other guy overheard the conversation and get upset after dude left Even the goodbye was the same from the other book

This book was ok

Of course Nicole Small was great. However the storyline was meaningless. There was no purpose to the story. Brooklyn talked about her mother but being there for her and her brothers. I wonderful how was she there to take care of her baby. I just didn't understand the purpose of this book... no lesson learned and no real change.

Life’s a Bitch, Until it’s Not...

I like the way the book began In medias res (in the middle of things), and continued in reflective pose. This was/is a great book to share and teach the lessons of entering adulthood too soon. Best of all, sharing the possibility of lessons learned, second chances, new beginnings and happy endings as long as forgiveness is in the mix.
I have also been able to realize the narrator’s ( Ms Nicole Small) growth, she has definitely stepped up my game! Excellent narrative!

Love Nicole Small

This was very disappointing. I have listened a few books by this author and all the stories are the same. This story had parts from the other book she wrote...same scenes different names. I mean anybody would have easily picked up on the deja vu. From the reviews, it appears people did. The other thing that I don't like, for this author all the female characters are portrayed the same. I don't know if this is a reflection of how the author sees herself, but all the women are portrayed as weak and abused. All of them desperate for a man to help validate their existence. I get maybe woman book like that, but all of them.

Choppy

Started off to be interesting but soon turned to a choppy story line with unfinished segments with underdeveloped characters and unexplained conclusions about characters. No history about mom, no insight on children most especially 2nd child. Almost if nonexistent. Alcoholic moms takes care of a drug addicts child’s...in what world?

Disappointing read.

Good Read! Very Real!

The narrator was great as usual. The storyline was very well written, thought out, and very true to real life. The book was interesting the whole way through! I felt so sorry for Brooklyn but, I'm happy she finally made it out of her struggles.

Question: Is J and Joey the same person?

The book was good, but there were parts in this book that resemble her other book He’ll on heels, the same plot different characters

Bleak

I don't know what I expected from this book but this kind of wasn't it. I'm leaning more towards a 3.5, but rounded up. It was a good story, but bleak almost from beginning to end.

Cover Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a piece of work. Just when you think she has her stuff together, the rollercoaster takes a deep dive. Good read!
