Nevaeh

I bargained with Lucifer. My end of this deal with the devil? Sneaking food into the prisoner's cell. Raphael, powerful Lord of Court of Sunder, is no less magnificent even in defeat, with burning violet eyes that track my every move.

I shouldn't even be around him, for my dreams feel disturbingly like memories of forbidden things I'd done in a life I never lived. If he finds out about my terrors, he'll know Lucifer can Mark me, and use me to his bidding.

But it's hard hiding things from a male I've come to...like.

Raphael

Michael risked catastrophe on the realm by taking a Marked one as his soul’s mate. I tried to stop him, and for my actions, he stripped my wings. I don’t know why my brother’s pretty soldier is helping me, but when the chance to escape comes, I take it. And I take her with me.

My plan: Build an army and wreak revenge on Court of Command. But the moment my lips touch Neveah’s, everything shifts. Until the end of days, I want to lose myself in the pleasure of her mortal soul. But if my brother and I are divided, Lucifer wins, and those days will come to a bloody and violent end.

Not in San Diego

Milana Jack's wrote a really good book. I like all of the concepts that she put together with the angels fighting each other including the first angel, the devil. I've read almost every book She Wrote. most of them were based in San Diego. Good to know that catastrophes happen in other places not just San Diego, sad to feel the angels in so much pain.

Lots of action

Still on the fence about this series but plan to continue listening. This book was more interesting than book 1 in my opinion; had more action and I liked Raphael’s character better; more personable. Narrators did a good job with characters.

One of the Best!!!

First I squealed, then I purchased it as soon as I saw this Audible. I am such a fan of Milana Jacks. And boy did this one not disappointed. I couldn’t figure out how he was going to get away....anyway it has everything you want in a good story and more. I never give away what happens in reviews, but man do I want to soooooo badly in this one. And I am wanting to tell you about the ending really badly, but I won’t....sigh I guess you will just have to get it for yourself. Well worth the time and the credit. Ok so why are you still here?? Haven’t you started listening to the book yet? Lolol

Sick of blind forgiveness stories

I HATE stories where there is blind forgiveness provided prematurely without true reconciliation and restitution. Would prefer a story where there is true reconciliation along with some restitution.

Michael actions set up the scenario death ,destruction and betrayal in Raphael realm, then comes and demands healing for his wife. no apology , no restoring what his actions help DESTROY and everything is supposed to happy go lucky between the brothers.... um NO especially not when the offense has freshly happen, or still happening....

Overall good, just wanted more

First, the addition of Connor Crais was the male voice was wonderful. I wasn't a big fan of Tor Thom so I welcome the change in narrators. Ava Lucas is great as usual.

Now for the rest, it was just OK. I think there were more things planned that just didn't get worked out. The "creatures" Raphael created seemed to lose purpose/usefulness rather quickly. The timeline started out as urgent and then there would be jumps of days/weeks (maybe even months) that just happened as a setup to a scene. It just got very convoluted and by the end it all seemed not to matter so it was a bit flat.

As for the romance, I was actually disappointed that Raphael, with his in-tune powers, didn't experience her pleasure. It was an odd choice to acknowledge his choice to have him tap in otherwise, but then skip that potential for intimacy. In general, the romance wasn't was romantic as I anticipated. I just expected more warmth and wit from Raphael considering how he was portrayed in thw first book (regardless of the revenge focus).

I'm still excited for this series and I hope the next book gives a fresh take on the world events and the mortal/immortal pairings.
