Publisher's summary

Thrust into a deadly game....

Avery Lennox has been called many names, but bond mate was never one of them. Her position as Chief Security Officer for Cosmos Raines guarantees that her life will never be boring - especially after her genius boss decides to open a portal between Earth and Baade, a world filled with an annoying, male-dominated species called Prime. But after meeting one particular alien, Avery decides to pursue him through the portal.

The trip to another world was...indescribable, but it’s when she returns home that Avery is in the most danger. Someone else is as fascinated with Core as she is, and believes Avery is the perfect bait.

From the moment Core Ta’Duran met Avery, he was captivated by the human woman who shields herself with an icy demeanor and a gun. Avery knows he wants a lifetime with her, and even though she is fighting their bond, she still appears on his world with a tantalizing offer: three days together with no questions, no ties, and no regrets.

When Core follows Avery back to Earth, he discovers a menacing message left for him: agree to be hunted or Avery dies. Can Avery and Core turn the tables on the ruthless killer who wants to display Core as a trophy in his private collection, or will Core lose the most crucial battle of his life?

So disappointed...

I was waiting so excitedly for this story to come out. I understand that you have to set up the story. But, for the most part, it was useless information. I love this series and the characters that make up this wonderful world. Fantasy and sexy as sin warriors wanting to find their own bond mates. Core's Attack was such a disappointment. The main H/h were great, and the story inbetween was fantastic, and would have saved this one. But then it ended so abruptly, I felt cheated.

Afraid to admit

I wanted to love this story but I think I just was listening to it in my eagerness to get to Runt's story. The book was good and as always I liked how there is somewhat of an overreaching plot of everyone trying to get bond mates. Avery's back story was good and drew you in immediately. We already saw in the foreshadowing of Merrick's book that it would be either Avery or Runt's story. I think we had to wait anyway since it seems like Runt was a little too young for a bond mate but I am anxious to read her story.

Back to Avery and Core. It was a good listen. Samantha was not a narrator I am used to when listening to Mrs. Smith's books but she did okay. I do find that all of the stories are getting a little formulaic, however, sometimes you need predictability.

Siri???

Did Susan hired Siri to narrate this book? I love this book and I’m disappointed that emotion was absent in this narration.

Hard Time With This

I am having a hard time finishing this book. My main issue is with Avery. She is so focused on not falling in love that she comes off hard and bitter. I feel sorry for Core. He's found his mate but she doesn't believe in the bond (she's seen
many examples on how it is) but ignores it and thinks she can walk away after she gets what she wants.

I have over 2 hours left. If my opinion changes if I ever work up the nerve to finish it, I'll update my review. I am not feeling the urge to finish. So disappointed. I hope Saving Runt is better.

Another Winner!

Book was filled with so much action. Really liked the ending. Narrator was fantastic. Book had interesting characters. Like the way characters from previous books are intertwined in this one. Looking forward to listening to the next book in series! You go S. E.!

Omg!

Omg! I love reading/listening to S.E. Smith stories. I had the audio version of this book. This is the next book in the Cosmos' Gateway series. This Core and Avery story. Avery is a no nonsense flat out business woman. Core's Attack is a fantastic book! Sexy, suspenseful, and action filled, I could not put this book down! I love the characters, the storyline and the take no prisoners attitude. I foynd that Samantha Cook did a wondeful job with the voices for Core and Avery. Now I can't wait to read Runt and Derik story next. Keep up the amazing job!

Another great listen.

I’ve loved this series and really hope there’s more. Tough no nonsense female character that’s been hardened by her past and a soft soul male that’s as deadly as a tiger, they have an instant connection but she is fighting it.
I love the fact that he doesn’t treat her as a helpless warrior and accepts her fighting beside him as they kick butt together.

Such an emotional story in audible.

Such an emotional story in audible. Loved the book but Samantha does a really good job of narrating this story. The intensity of what happens comes across clearly. BOOK REVIEW Another enjoyable read from Ms Smith with an entertaining and riveting plot. Wonderful to have another story in Cosmos’ Gateway series. Great to spend time on Baade and learn more about the planet. Avery is a very emotionally closed off woman and it is hard to warm up to her at first. Yes, her childhood was difficult and unfortunately she ends up with a warped view of her parents love. Some rehashing of scenes from Merrick’s Maiden as there is overlapping in the storylines but from different points of view. The baddies view which was enjoyably different. Loved Core, he was such a careful gentleman with Avery but became the warrior he was when it was needed. Loved the ending. What fun is ahead.
