Story
Charles Darwin first visited the Galápagos Islands almost 200 years ago, only to discover a land filled with plants and animals that could not be found anywhere else on Earth. How did they come to inhabit the islands? How long will they remain? Thoroughly researched, this historical and scientific book tells the epic saga of the life of an island - its birth in fire, its rise to greatness, its decline, and, finally, the emergence of life on new islands.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

What keeps objects from floating out of your hand? What if your feet drifted away from the ground? What stops everything from floating into space? Gravity. Author Jason Chin takes this complex subject and makes it brilliantly accessible to young listeners in this innovative book. His expansive but simple narrative does justice to the subject at hand, looking at the concept of gravity in a whole new way. From the redwoods to the oceans to a small island, he now takes us to outer space in this thoroughly researched, exceptional addition to his body of children's nonfiction.

In the 15th century, four Mahu sail from Tahiti to Hawaii and share their gifts of science and healing with the people of Waikiki. The islanders return this gift with a monument of four boulders in their honor, which the Mahu imbue with healing powers before disappearing. As time passes, foreigners inhabit the island and the once-sacred stones are forgotten until the 1960s. Though the true story of these stones was not fully recovered, the power of the Mahu still calls out to those who pass by them at Waikiki Beach today.

Not Fact Checked and Poorly Adapted Audio Reading
This short listen is either a highly abbreviated version of the original work or from a children's picture book rather than a chapter book or standard informative nonfiction book. There is not much here to work with at all as to making a just book review.
I give this piece 2 stars even because this could serve as getting kids interested in this subject matter for the first time. However, this really only touches on the bare minimum, so kids already interested in marine biology wouldn't be learning anything new.
This work lost half a star because of it's short length. It lost 1.5 stars due to inaccuracies--not only does it downplay the burning of fossil fuel's role in the climate change crisis, but there are at least 2 instances of flat out incorrect statements regarding basic coral biology or reef ecology!! Another star gone due to its poor narration: random lists and descriptions of illustrations which obviously would be there in an "audiobook", so this read more like a robotic read-a-long than an audiobook narration.
This nonsense shouldn't have been allowed to be sold on Audible. Stay away.
