Constantine the Great is a complex figure surrounded by controversies and contradictions. The sources of history left for us to read are often biased one way or the other as he is the first Christian Roman emperor.

Good, rather basic history for beginners.

The narration is quite good and the content is quite basic and high-level. If you are beginner to Roman history or the lake Roman Empire or simply want something that a teenager could get their heads around. This is good stuff. If you are looking for something scholarly or in-depth, then there are much better resources to go to.

A Worthwhile listening the audible

The military historian can profit from listening to this work: Constantine was a man who, as Nathan Forrest would say, "got there with the most" with a highly trained elite core (mobile striking force) that consistently crushed all opposition - even when outnumbered.

More opiinion than fact

The author completely lays the foundation for Constantine's appearance on the world stage with the arrangements created by Diocletian for transfer of power as well as the struggle between the Senate and Army in Roman politics.

I'd be careful with this audible

as a great man in a pivotal time in world history. Gives insight into why, following in his father ' footsteps, Constantine not only granted permission for Christianity but also brought the Church and Empire commonly in a society that would last a thousand years.
