It is very easy to overlook cat training and forget to properly train your kitten from the first day he arrives home. We all know about the effects that an untrained cat can have on our stress levels and wallet. Don't underestimate the effects that proper training, and care can have on the behavior of your cat. We all know how tricky it can be to solve behavior problems and understand cats without a guide. Cats can sometimes seem unpredictable, and apparently less inclined to cooperate with us.

Excellent Resource for Kitten Owners
Would you listen to Complete Kitten Care again? Why?
Yes, although I'd prefer having a hard copy of this book in my personal library because of all of the excellent pieces of advice that I'd like to refer to again at a later date. My two cats are 4 years old, but I learned a lot that I didn't know by listening to this book. The author had a very pleasant voice to listen to and she read with passion. You could tell she believed in what she was saying and cared about the health and well-being of cats.
What did you like best about this story?
Rich information about kitten care.
Have you listened to any of Amy Shojai’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first, but I do plan on listening to others.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several sections in the book that I rewound and listened to again. It is difficult to narrow it down to one section. I felt as though Amy was in the car with me talking to me as I was listening to the book.
Any additional comments?
I look forward to listening to other books by this author.

The essential kitten manual
I've rescued and raised hundreds of kittens over the years, (many of them orphans only hours old) yet Amy has still managed to teach me a thing or two about kitten care. Her style of writing is clear and effective. She approaches her subject matter in a logical, easy-to-understand manner and she clearly has vast knowledge not only of kittens but about cats and other animals in general.
What really stood out for me in this audio version of her book was her genuine love for animals. This is evident in the emotion clearly discernable in her voice when she deals with difficult subjects such as euthanasia and abandoned or orphaned kittens.
In this book you will find everything you need to know about caring for a kitten and so much more. It is the most comprehensive guide to kitten care that I've ever read - buy it and see for yourself - and I highly recommend it as a reference for all cat lovers, whether you only want to keep pedigreed cats or whether you are a rescuer of street moggies, whether you're an experienced breeder or you've never handled a cat in your life. This book covers the full spectrum and it's certainly a book I'll be returning to time and time again.
As a very experienced "kitten mom" the selling point for me was Amy's description of how to tube-feed a kitten. I've always been afraid to try it because of the risk of getting the feeding formula down the trachea instead of the oesophagus. Amy's clear, concise instructions made it actually sound easy!

Excellent book for your first kitten! Highly recommended! The author did a fantastic job of narrating although I do wish she was less emotional at times.
