Highly Recommend It

This book was very well written, was very interesting and was enjoyable and easy to listen to.
It was also extremely helpful to me, as a married person. There are many things in this book
that I have used as a tool in my marriage. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is
having communication problems in their marriage, or simply wants to improve their current
communication skills.

Great basic communication in marriage book

I received this book for free to review. I just finished listening to it and I think it is a great beginners book. It covers all the basic communication skills that can help you improve your communication with your spouse. I found it very practical and overall good. The narrator sounded very robotic in the beginning and it took me time to get used to the voice. I would totally recommend people getting this book if you are looking to improve your communication in your marriage. I listened to most of it with my wife and both enjoyed it. Thank you!

Lots of great tips

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

It was a good book with lots of great info. I have already used some of the tips from the book in my own life.

However, listening to the reader made it hard to focus as she sounded a little robotic.

Good advice, robotic narration

There is some great advice in this book. It is fairly straightforward in many ways, but often hard to implement.

Many of the ideas and rules ideas are not just for marriage, but also for any other relationship. This book does focus on marriage, but the lessons could be easily tweaked for wider uses.

Things that are covered include:

- why communication is important
- why you become lazy with conversation over time
- active listening
- body lanugage
- essentials of building and maintaining trust
- showing appreciation
- dealing whit conflict
- and others...

I would have preferred if the book has 'case studies' or example stories. Make it about people, even if those people are made up for the sake of an example story, but it then at least gives it some personality beyond just rule and statements. It brings it down to the real world and makes it feel grounded, rather than just ideals. How would these rules work in practice? what would they look like?

The narration by Kim Rossi sounds rather robotic in places. It. Sometimes. Sounds. Like. Each. Word. Is. Treated. As. Its. Own. Sentence. There are parts where it flows but other parts it is stilted.

The narrator also read out the table of contents, which makes for an extremely boring opening to the book. Table of Contents work fine for a print book, where you can scan it quickly or flip to it, but it is rather painful to listen to in an audiobook format.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily.

Wonderful for Couples' Communication Skills

When our marriage began to decline, my husband and I turned to this audiobook for help. It was exactly what we needed. It taught us communication skills which we did not have before. It also taught us different ways to communicate. It has helped us improve our relationship in so many ways. It is so well written and there is so much useful information. Highly recommend this to all couples. I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
