People who lack motivation to communicate. This isnt about HOW to communicate but rather WHY and the emotions behind it. I didnt take one helpful technique from the 2 hours

Jim Rohn is a guru in the communication field ,this Audio book is very straight to the point, funny and inspiring ;specially for the newbie in sales and public speaking.
When listening to this Audio book jot down some notes as you’ll find it very useful and handy later on.

I was very disappointed .. A prelude

I was really disappointed, it was more of a summary of what he will discuss if you attended a seminar. Lots of one liner on a bunch of topics. I wouldn't buy another title of this kind.

I learned so much from reading this book than taking communication classes at my university, which is kind of sad.

Good info once you get in there...

So first up, I was expecting something in book format and was thrown off course a little when I discovered this is a recording of a seminar. Once I got past the fact it wasn’t quite what I expected and gave it a chance I realised there’s a lot of good content in here. Jim’s delivery can sometimes come across as repetitive but the more I listened the more I realised that’s probably because repetition is required to make a lot of this sink in. There are no mind blowing techniques in here, none of it is rocket science however, sometimes we just need someone to point out the obvious. I’ll be following up this book with more of his material and most importantly, listening to this gave me a much needed push to get things on track. Recommended.

This is supposed to be a book about the art of communication. Mr Rohn simply rants in abstract terms. He should have:
1. Structured the material better
2. Given clear examples with "how to" instructions.

Has Communication and the Art of Persuasion put you off other books in this genre?

Yes, a bit. Fortunately I first listened to "how to win friends and influence people", so I know there are good books out there.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Jim Rohn?

No one, he is an excellent narrator, with passion, and varied energy and pace. It's simply low grade content that no one could have saved.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Confusion at first, then contempt, then disappointment.

Just saying "do this", "don't do that" and using generic examples is a rant, not an education.
