Story
Five years ago, aliens destroyed a carrier and its airwing at Jupiter without warning. Since then, the Earth’s nations have learned to work together, and they want to know more about the aliens who appeared, attacked, and vanished without a trace. The Americans have provided a new carrier. Chinese technology has made going after the invaders possible. And the Russians have developed a new control system that will give the craft never-before-seen capabilities. Mankind’s next war is upon us, and Uplink Squadron is the tip of the spear.

Story
When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

I always believed in what I could see. Sure, I was raised in one of those Christian nondenominational churches by my parents and a very strict Mimi, but my beliefs were not exactly solid. That all changed when I found myself rocketing through the cosmos, after hitting an ambush while on patrol in the sandbox. I landed in a magic circle made by an Archmage bent on world domination. Spoiler alert, Fantasy Hitler isn't bulletproof!

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Publisher's Summary
The story continues; our heroes have made it to Eden, only to realize their new home is one of many Earths.
It's a world worth fighting for, but they aren't the only people who think so. Coexistence and peace are alien concepts to a new enemy that doesn't have a word for retreat.

Excellent follow up.
I really enjoyed the 1st book and found it a breath of fresh air. But so many 2nd books are just retelling with minor variations. I found "Come and Take It" to be new enough to be fresh while continuing the story of the 1st book. Only bad thing is I have to wait for the 3rd book on Audible! 😄

Combines action with sci-fi in a most unique way!
This Trillogy is a very unique idea built on the multiverse idea, combined with great action and anti-socialist conservative factoids. Patriotic Americans will love this book, and it will even get leftists to think about the consequences of their long term policies and how they will interact with their own personal freedom and individual rights.

Fun and Entertaining
I was not sure what to get out the books but I like story and the adventure. It’s a mirror image of what I am sure people feel now with the climate as it is. 2021 that is. It’s fun story and I’m happy to have found it.

This series is, ...is bad ass.
Okay... where do I start? the narrator does a really good job in both of the books (first and second) so far.
The story- look at it like this it's the writers spin on Atlas Shrugged, but WAY more in depth at least compared to the movies...lol I really enjoyed this series so far it has quickly become one of my favorites! I don't want to give out any spoilers. so I guess, I'll just say. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book. That about sums it up. so far YES!

Action packed!
What would happen if we fought a Napoleonic army with breach loading rifles? This story. Although every battle should have been one sided, the author did a pretty good job of describing the short-comings of poorly disciplined soldiers, despite having modern weapons. There were several battles that keeps the listener engaged, with some political intrigue thrown in for additional entertainment.
The only annoying downside was the narrator, whose deep breaths between sentences remained distracting. He has a great voice but the deep breaths lowered my overall rating of his narration.

Eh
The first books problem that kept it from being great was the way way right and left political views. The problem in this book is 21st century weapons can’t easily overcome people armed with 1700 weapons. Yeah that was a tough one to swallow. In this one if you can overlook that it was also good.

If you get triggered easily by different views on politics you may not like this. If you are open minded and love freedom you will enjoy this very much.
