Cute Story!

I totally enjoyed listening to this cute romance involving mature adults in a small town setting. The story kept me guessing right up to the romantic ending. The narrator also did a great job with the different voices needed in the story. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Sweet second chance at love story

This story hit on all the things I love about a love story. The characters were relatable, people I would love to meet in person. The setting Colorado, my birth state, though I only lived there 6 weeks. The conflict was internal. A very sweet story.

Narration was well done, the narrator does not overwhelm the story she delivers it with just the right tone and emotion that draws your into the story.

Super Sweet Love Story

This story was a cute easy read. There is no real drama, and it's about falling in love again. Both of the characters were sweet and had good intentions. There are no steamy scenes, and it is a quick love story. The narration was really good.

A Sweet Romance about Mature Adults

This was a sweet, quick read, or I should say listen. I listened to the Audiobook. It was really nice to hear about a more mature couple and their feelings about romance and intimacy as compared to when they were younger. You don't often get that in a book.

The Audiobook narration was ok. The narrator was wonderful with the female voices. It might have been better with a man reading at least J. W.'s part. There was something really missing in the reading of J. W. and Luke. The other male parts were not that extensive so you could overlook them.

The story missed the mark for me because June and J. W. hardly spent any time together before declaring their undying love for each other. June, never having lived on a working ranch felt comfortable enough to make that move because she could ride a horse? Really?

It bothered me that she was admittedly rude to Jeff the first time they met, and she never apologized to him. Even after he apologized to her for blocking the pump and then found her to let her know he was done.

The entire drive across country as a single woman with a dog threw me. I guess I am entirely too cautious to even consider driving across country by myself with my dog. Or too chicken.

I understood June was trying to figure out her life after being responsible for other people for so long, so it was all about her. BUT, when she decided that she was attracted to Jeff, it still seemed to be all about her. Not their life together going forward. Not how she would adapt to being a ranch wife. Not informing her children that she was even thinking about making that kind of decision.

I accept she didn't need her children's approval to make the decision, but wouldn't you at least want them to know you were seeing someone before you married him?

I have to address the elephant in the room. Jeff and June have met each other a total of 3 times. 4, if you include the last night at the dude ranch. No communication at all in between these meetings.

If you overlook some of the less realistic aspects of the book, it is not a bad read, or bad listen. Suspend some of your need for realism, and it is a sweet romantic book with a HEA.

I own the book, but I voluntarily listened to and reviewed the Audiobook received from the author.

Cute story of a mature couple

romance stories about older couples are harder to come by, and this was just so sweet.
my husband popped in on me listening and said he never knew there were multiple people that narrated audio books. so clearly this narator does a good job with distinguishing characters!

Colorado Sunset

I have always liked feel-good stories and this book definitely gave me a big dose of that! Love is such a powerful theme and second chances are surely great additional attractions. After all, everyone deserves second chances, right.

This book talked about just that - a second chance at love for two individulas who have lost their spouses. One through death and the other through divorce. June and Jeff were attracted to each other - not at first sight - but circumstances did not allow them to be together right away. No spoiler here, so let me just finish this review by adding that love will always be worth fighting for.

I received a copy of this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

Colorado Sunset

What a sweet love story about two people in their 50s looking for a second chance at love. The characters were so relatable and likable. I didn't realize this was the start of a series until now. I am looking forward to Luke's story. Sarah Sampino did a great job with both the male and female characters and did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Inspiring

First I have to say this story was refreshing, being from that older generation I can relate. Second chances are a gift some never find others are lucky to achieve. Having said that I have to say Jane Meyer inspired me, her bravery to take a road trip cross country alone, move on with her life, to take a chance on a new love and life. Bravo to the author for writing this story and thank you Sarah Sampino for your wonderful narration and offering this audible book to me for a fair and honest review.

I love this story!

This is one of the sweetest romances I've read in a long time. The conflict each of these characters feels is so real. June has dedicated her life to raising her family and is feeling the loss of a long marriage on top of sending her last child off to college. My heart broke for her when she put her daughter on the plane and had nothing to return to but her dog, Laddie. Jeff Walker suffers a loss of a different type. His wife has died and he has committed himself to remaining single. When the two meet there is instant friction and they part ways. Fate, however steps in and throws the two together again. What I loved most about this story is that the author has shown that we can take control of the decisions that control our lives. We don't have to accept what appears to be so. She also has shown the different stages in our life that are meant to move forward. June's son has tried to make her choose to live near him, despite the fact she doesn't want to live in a big city, while her youngest daughter, tries to make her feel guilty for wanting to sell their family home, even though it is much too large for just her and a dog. I won't even attempt to display my anger at the ex, low-life husband who needs to just leave her alone; he made his decision years ago. Kudos to the way June handles them all. As usual, Sarah Sampino delivers an outstanding performance. Thank you Sarah for providing a review copy of this book. I can't wait to listen to book two.

What a refreshing listen!

Colorado Sunset is not your usual romance. This story let us live through June and her chance at finding love the second time around. She is divorced, was cheated on and not looking for a relationship. Traveling cross country to visit her son, her car breaks down and she is taken to a ranch where she meets Jeff. Jeff, a widower vowed never to love again after the death of his wife, but now somehow these two find their second chance at love. They come with histories, baggage and all those things that being married before, having kids and living a life bring. It's sweet, the visual imagery of Colorado is beautiful and it's a story that will leave you knowing there is always hope and love out there.

The choice of narrator for a book like this is important. You need someone that can voice kids and middle aged characters, and Sarah Sampino brings it. She has such a wide variety of voices and each one tailored to the character she is portraying. I loved her performance of this!
