Cute Story!

I totally enjoyed listening to this cute romance involving mature adults in a small town setting. The story kept me guessing right up to the romantic ending. The narrator also did a great job with the different voices needed in the story. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Sweet second chance at love story

This story hit on all the things I love about a love story. The characters were relatable, people I would love to meet in person. The setting Colorado, my birth state, though I only lived there 6 weeks. The conflict was internal. A very sweet story.

Narration was well done, the narrator does not overwhelm the story she delivers it with just the right tone and emotion that draws your into the story.

Super Sweet Love Story

This story was a cute easy read. There is no real drama, and it's about falling in love again. Both of the characters were sweet and had good intentions. There are no steamy scenes, and it is a quick love story. The narration was really good.

I really enjoyed this sweet story about June and JW finding a second chance at love.

Great

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was 5 plus hours of good entertainment. Not a lot of dramatic shifts but a smooth story that was heartwarming and entertaining. Two over 50s find each other even though they live miles apart. Both have experienced loss of their first loves and are skittish. the children and other characters make the story real and help move these two into a great relationship. Both of them seek God's guidance in their decision making but also still fall into some of those human traps we set for ourselves. Such as why wasn't I good enough for my X? When in actuality it was the X who was not good enough for you. The narrator needs to get a few more books under her belt. She was chopping up sentences when she needed to breathe. This threw her rhythm off.

Beautiful!

This is a beautifully written and narrated story. You are never too old to find love. June has been divorced for five years and she isn't looking for love when she runs into Jeff at a fuel stop. Fate brings them together again and this time there is no denying their attraction. From this point the story takes off, I found myself needing to know how they'd get their HEA.

Sarah Sampino did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life through her narration. This is a definite must listen.

Colorado Sunset

Colorado Sunset
: Jill Haymaker

June Meyer's ex-husband dumped her five years ago for a woman young enough to be his daughter. Jeff Walker lost his wife to cancer eight years ago. Neither of them have moved on with dating, until they accidentally meet. It's great to see or hear of a mature couple re-discovering romance, even though it's different than when they were younger. It's a sweet quick listen.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Sarah Sampino.

Inspiring

First I have to say this story was refreshing, being from that older generation I can relate. Second chances are a gift some never find others are lucky to achieve. Having said that I have to say Jane Meyer inspired me, her bravery to take a road trip cross country alone, move on with her life, to take a chance on a new love and life. Bravo to the author for writing this story and thank you Sarah Sampino for your wonderful narration and offering this audible book to me for a fair and honest review.

I love this story!

This is one of the sweetest romances I've read in a long time. The conflict each of these characters feels is so real. June has dedicated her life to raising her family and is feeling the loss of a long marriage on top of sending her last child off to college. My heart broke for her when she put her daughter on the plane and had nothing to return to but her dog, Laddie. Jeff Walker suffers a loss of a different type. His wife has died and he has committed himself to remaining single. When the two meet there is instant friction and they part ways. Fate, however steps in and throws the two together again. What I loved most about this story is that the author has shown that we can take control of the decisions that control our lives. We don't have to accept what appears to be so. She also has shown the different stages in our life that are meant to move forward. June's son has tried to make her choose to live near him, despite the fact she doesn't want to live in a big city, while her youngest daughter, tries to make her feel guilty for wanting to sell their family home, even though it is much too large for just her and a dog. I won't even attempt to display my anger at the ex, low-life husband who needs to just leave her alone; he made his decision years ago. Kudos to the way June handles them all. As usual, Sarah Sampino delivers an outstanding performance. Thank you Sarah for providing a review copy of this book. I can't wait to listen to book two.

What a refreshing listen!

Colorado Sunset is not your usual romance. This story let us live through June and her chance at finding love the second time around. She is divorced, was cheated on and not looking for a relationship. Traveling cross country to visit her son, her car breaks down and she is taken to a ranch where she meets Jeff. Jeff, a widower vowed never to love again after the death of his wife, but now somehow these two find their second chance at love. They come with histories, baggage and all those things that being married before, having kids and living a life bring. It's sweet, the visual imagery of Colorado is beautiful and it's a story that will leave you knowing there is always hope and love out there.

The choice of narrator for a book like this is important. You need someone that can voice kids and middle aged characters, and Sarah Sampino brings it. She has such a wide variety of voices and each one tailored to the character she is portraying. I loved her performance of this!
