Publisher's Summary

I knew the risks of this job when I signed on with Jameson Force Security. Knew my time as a marine would prepare me for the danger I would face. But no amount of training could have ever prepared me for the helplessness of watching my teammates die, the agonizing mental and physical pain of torture, or the despair of captivity.

Returning home to Pittsburgh following a mission gone wrong, I am riddled with guilt and haunted by nightmares. I spend my days trying to regain the parts of myself I lost in that desert, the pieces that made me the Malik Fournier I once was. While the physical effects of my torture are fading, the emotional ones are proving much more stubborn and I find solace from the last person I should ever seek such comfort.

Anna Tate lost even more than I did in that mission. Now a widow and a single mom to the daughter she gave birth to shortly after her husband’s death, Anna offers me comfort I don’t deserve. As my feelings for Anna grow, I worry that once she learns the truth about what happened, she’ll turn her back on me.

I pull her to me just as tightly as I push her away. Hoping this forbidden love will save me from the ghost I’ve become.

Emotional Addition to the Series

Overall 4 stars
Performance 4.5 stars
Story 4 stars

This was such an emotional addition to the series! I've been eagerly awaiting Malik's story and it did not disappoint. Fans of the series should note that there isn't a suspenseful plot in Code Name: Ghost. Instead, the focus is purely on Malik and Anna and their struggles to reconcile their feelings and guilt, as well as move forward in a healthy way.

Both Malik and Anna have their own demons to conquer and I appreciated that Sawyer Bennett addressed both the physical and mental tolls that they faced. Anna and Malik recognize that what they share is unique and special, but they understandably have reservations about that incredible connection. I loved that there wasn't any unnecessary drama or angst in this one and that they spoke about things maturely and honestly. They relied on their friends and family to help them through, but also on themselves. I admired Anna and thought she was a wonderful heroine. She was intelligent, driven, and understood when Malik needed her to push and when to pull back. They had amazing chemistry and all the build up between them was so delicious. I also loved the cameos from the Fournier siblings. It was great catching up with everyone and also seeing how close knit they all are. They were such an integral part of Malik's healing.

I initially read this book, but re-reading it via audiobook was much more emotional for me thanks to the amazing performances of Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose. The duo were wonderful as Malik and Anna and I felt that they really fit their roles well. Aaron Shedlock was especially incredible at capturing all the fear and vulnerability of Malik. I'm excited for Cage's story next, especially since he's gotten himself into quite the predicament!

Malik and Anna FOREVER!!!

Updated for Audible review:
Narration is performed by Aaron Shedlock , Virginia Rose. They both do a phenomenal job bringing this fabulous story to life for me. Let me put an additional comment: I could listen to Aaron Shedlock’s voice every day, 24 hours, 7 days a week. He is another narrator that I have purchased the book just because he narrated it!

First, I have been a Fournier fan for a very long time. You see, Malik Fournier is the youngest brother of Max, Lucas and Simone Fournier from Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series. I could not wait to meet this hero and when I heard that Ms. Bennett was going to write a story about him in her Jameson Force Security series, I could not wait for it to hit my Kindle. OMG it was well worth the wait to get my hands on this ABSOLUTELY FREAKING FABULOUS BOOK!!!
My heart broke for both Malik Fournier and Anna Tate from the very beginning. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain Anna went through, losing her husband like she did, especially being pregnant. And Malik, his guilt for coming home alive, barely, when 2 of his friends did not. I totally loved watching these two come together and healing each other. And little Avery, sweetheart, you really helped in that process as well.
I was gifted with a copy of this fabulous book for my reading pleasure and for my opinions on the book. If I could, I would rate this SPECTACULAR story and its PHENOMENAL cover with 5 thousand stars. Yes, 5000 stars. I loved this book so much, I also NEED the Audible version of it. I will update my review as soon as I listen.
Code Name: Ghost is the 5th book in Ms. Bennett’s Jameson Security series, and is by far, my absolute favorite in this series.
Thank you for reading my review. What are you waiting for, go hit the purchase button. I know you will enjoy this book as much as I have.

Malik & Anna

A beautifully captivating and intriguing story. Malik and Anna embark on an emotional journey of grief, moving on, learning to live, and most of all finding love. I feel like I have waited for Malik’s story for a long time and it was definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed, loved, and adored this book.
Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose are perfection. They absolutely brought these amazing characters to life.

Finally Malik's story!!!

Code Name: Ghost is Book 5 in the Jameson Force Security series and finally it's time for Malik's story

If you've been listening to the Jameson Force Security Series you know the character of Malik and what's he's been through.

Sawyer is a fantastic writer and she comes up with something new every single time. This time she take us on an emotional journey through loss, survival, hope, and love with the characters of Malik and Anna. Both characters are real and relatable

Virginia Rose is fast becoming one of my favourite female narrators, with her strong, confident delivery but she can bring all the feels. I had a bit of trouble with the male narrator as I found his delivery a bit too breathy and it became a bit of a distraction for me

But overall another great addition to the series and this definitely has my favourite cover of the series so far! Bring on Code Name: Rook!!!

Great story!

Malik and Anna's story hits the heart at full speed. Malik has endured torture and barely survived. Anna lost her husband in the same attack that Malik was taken hostage from. These two both have lost so much yet find a kindred soul in each other. Anna and Malik can't help the attraction they have to one another and yet there is some guilt there. But these two have lived through so much pain and find their second chance in one another.

This story was well told and tugged at my heart strings. I would have loved a little more angst as they found their ways to one another, but it was a good story.

The narrators did a great job telling the story.

This series continues to WOW me

I wanted this story more than any of the others. Malik in my eyes was the hero. He risked everything for his team but he survived and they didn’t. He was ridden with guilt and it ate away at his life.

Anna was a trooper. She lost her love bit the Team
Kept her whole. She took life by the strings and moved forward for the sake of her child. Knowing that Malik was safe brighten her life but why was it brighter than she expected.

This story kept you on your toes. The feeling of finally getting something right was in the front of your mind and then seeing this story bloom only made it better.

Kudos to the narrators who bought this story to life in the best way!!

I loved to follow Malik and Anna's in their journey to happiness. They are perfect together. The storyline is emotional, sweet, sexy, and beautiful. I love these interconnected Series with characters intertwined! The family spirit, and the friendship in this story is wonderful. Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose did a fantastic job with the narration. I love their voices together! I enjoyed it! Looking forward to listen to the next installment in the Series, Code Name: Rook.

incredible Listen

What an incredible listen that had me completely addicted. I have waiting for Malik's story and wondering how it was going to turn out. Malik is a survivor from being taken captive and then subsequently rescued. He and Anna form what starts as a friendship and is so heart warming to read about. I love how this story developed and seeing how the characters grew from their broken histories and then come together was really heartwarming.

Sweet romance with a good cast of characters!

Both narrators are great for the audio on Audible. Clear quality performances from both the male and female narrators. Recommended.

Sweet romance between Anna and Malik. Anna’s husband died on a mission for a private security firm while she was pregnant, and Anna now works for the same security firm. Malik works for the same private security firm, and was recently captured and tortured by an enemy. Luckily, Malik is saved, but needs to take some time to recover. Anna and Malik end up tasked with working on the same project, so they begin to grow closer while working together and dealing with their hardships. I wasn’t a huge fan of the single mom premise; especially when there was talk about her breast feeding and her milk leaking during sex, but I did like both characters. Anna has the whole wholesome girl next door thing going on, and Malik is a nice guy. There’s a nice connection between them. I wish there was more suspense in this book since it is about a security firm, but this focuses mainly on the healing and romantic aspects. I missed having those action scenes in this book like they were in the other books in this series; more action would’ve added to the fun of the story. I’d say a 3.5 rating for the story, but I rounded up to a 4 because of the good narration and this is an entertaining series. The setup for the next book with Cage and his girl, Jamie, sounds fun, so I’m looking forward to continuing this series!

Emotional, heartbreaking, healing

In CODE NAME: GHOST we finally get Malik’s story. It hasn’t even been sure if he ever would get his own story for such a long time, after a mission in Syria went terribly wrong and he got kidnapped … But, Malik is a survivor – and so is Anna, who was equally affected by the same events, even if in a different way …

Both characters have a long road of recovery ahead of them, but maybe, just maybe they can travel this road together … If it weren’t for the guilt and grief they both were feeling. But still, there is this inexplicable calm they feel around the other, because they simply get each other, and soon their camaraderie transforms into something so much deeper …

A heartbreaking story of survival and healing, of overcoming trauma and the tortured emotions it brings, brought to life by the talented duo of Virginia Rose and Aaron Shedlock. They both know how to delivery every single emotion the characters feel just perfectly and take the story to another level.

Plain beautiful – including a wonderful cameo from my favorite couple from another Sawyer Bennett series. I loved it!

Emotionally charged!

Oh holy moly! Ghost storylone made my heart ache... like it literally ached for these two battered souls! For one, I can't even imagine (and don't wanna) how Anna was able to continue on with life and having a baby without the father. I feel like i would have been a pebble but Anna shows great strength. Then we have Malik, he's struggling with some massive survivor's guilt. They both excluded this strength and so much heartache... until love started to mend them together.

Aaron Shedlock excels at playing the wounded marine/military man. There's something in his voice that magnifies all the feelings, all the pain Malik feels is given over in his voice. Virgina Rose is very similar with packing a wallup of emotions into her voice. This is a rough and emotionally-charged story that these to narrators took to another level!

Worth the wait!

I've been anticipating Code Name: Ghost since I found out in one of Sawyer Bennett's earlier books that Malik survived. I was curious to see how he'd recover from the ordeal and who he was going to end up with, and it was worth the wait!

Anna's husband, Jimmy, was killed on the same mission Malik was on when he was captured. That makes this different from the other romances I usually get to read- this one is also about finding love again after suffering a loss and overcoming survivor's guilt. One thing I liked about this story is that it addresses both issues well and that it ended with all the loose ends neatly tied up. It does, however, tease the next book in the series, Code Name: Rook, and I can't wait to see what happens in Cage's story.

Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose were fantastic as Malik and Anna.

Code Name: Ghost is a slow burn contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded dual style. It's a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

The story we've been waiting for!!!

Having heard that the mission had gone wrong and Anna lost her husband and Malik was missing, I had been curious about these two from the start.

All the past, the pain, and the hopeful look to the future. Ahh, the tension, trying to hold back, not sure if they can move forward. SO good! We wanted this story, and it delivered!

An absolute gem!!

I love the entire Jameson Force Security series but this book Code Name: Ghost is by far my favorite. Malik and Anna's survival through some of the worst things imaginable had me crying all of those ugly tears. Their love story reeled me in like no other books have done before. I absolutely loved it. By far one of my best reads of 2020 so far. The narrators were fantastic really paying justice to the words they read. They used all the emotion necessary to make this book totally believable.

Worth the wait

This is one of the books that I have been not so patiently waiting for. I wanted to know what happened to Malik in Syria and when he comes home. And what would happen with Anna Tate after picking up the pieces of her life after losing her husband. The relationship with these two is what you can imagine. Sawyer Bennett did not disappoint with this book. I could not put this down and loved the story. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. The great thing about this series and of sawyer Bennett series is you don’t have to read all of the books but I do suggest you do because they are so good. Aaron Sherlock and Virginia Rose narration was great

My favourite in the series and so good on audio

Yay! Finally, it’s Malik’s turn. Malik Fournier, brother to Cold Fury Hockey players Max and Lucas, a former marine now working for Jameson Force Security, held hostage for 5 months in the desert following an operation gone bad. Then we have the adorable, hard working and independent Anna Tate who lost her husband on that same mission, a widow with a baby on the way. When Malik is rescued and working back at Jameson, he and Anna quickly form a bond deeper than just friendship, but they both need to let go of their guilt if they have any chance of being more. Not a lot of action in this story, lots of romance though. A wonderful story, featuring many of my favourite Sawyer Bennett characters. Malik and Anna, don’t play games, they speak their minds and don’t mince their words. Truth all the way, even if it does hurt to hear. A match made in heaven, and true sole mates in my opinion. Wonderful writing, a great story and characters, and quite possibly one of my favourites in the series. Add in narration from Aaron Shedlock (I just love his sexy rumble), and Virginia Rose, and it was a real winner for me.

Talk about a rough start for our hero Malik and with a connection to Anna's tragic past. At least they found a way to heal each other. Good book and I think this book is perfect on audio.

This is the story I have been waiting for

Welcome to another installment of the Jameson Force series.

Ever since "that mission" I have been anxious for both Anna and Malik - we have met them in earlier books, and I have needed more.

And Ms Bennett has definitely come out hitting with Code Name: Ghost.

I don't want to give anything away, but boy oh boy is this one a rollercoaster.

Feelings of grief and guilt play a big part in this story, and I felt it right to my core. So many tortured feelings and emotions, I just wanted to hug our lovelies so hard.

I loved getting more of the Jameson "family" dynamic and finding out where our previous couples are at, and have left me wanting more.

Ms Rose is a new narrator to me, and she has a wonderful tone to her narration. Mr Shadlock is fast becoming a favourite of mine, and look forward to more of both their work.

Please Ms Bennett, give me more.

A Riveting & Heartfelt Story! Brilliant Listen🎧📚🎧

I loved this book, it is a beautiful written story of two people who suffered from tragedy and loss. Malik was on a mission with other members of Jameson Force Security, it was supposed to be an in and out rescue mission but things went bad when they were ambushed from behind, two members of his team were killed and he was taken hostage, held for five months in an hole in the ground somewhere in a Syrian desert. He was tortured and was not sure what his future held, he was doubtful he even had one. Jameson Force Security lead by Kynan, did not give up on finding him, it took them months to locate him but they did and the team went in and rescued Malik. Kynan, one of my favorite characters in this series, looks out for his men, he wanted to make sure Malik got the help he needed not allowing him to go back to full duty until he was cleared. Anna Tate’s life was forever changed, she lost her husband and gave birth to his daughter several months after the loss, a bittersweet moment for her. She is learning how to live again, she is now working at Jameson Force Security and coming to terms with being a single mom. She was happy to hear that Malik was rescued, she only met him briefly before he left on the mission so she was not expecting to feel such a strong connection to him as she did. I felt the two were perfect for each other and together. Two wounded souls with broken hearts, hers for losing her husband his for the guilt he felt for the failed mission. I love how their story played out, it is beautiful plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, many heart filling emotions and the start of a wonderful romance. Sawyer Bennett did a great job covering survivor’s guilt and PTSD. I loved how realistic and relatable the characters are, it is easy to see and understand what they are going thru. Also loved Malik’s connection to Cold Fury Hockey. Thank you for another awesome book, I know I said it before but this is definitely one of my favorites of yours, one of many.

Aaron Shedlock and Virgin’a Rose are talented narrator and versatile voice artists. They bring the characters to life naturally and with ease, giving each their own voice. They do an awesome job portraying each characters, I loved Aaron’s Malik, he captured his true persona and sounded just as I pictured him to sound. His Kynan was perfection too, great job with the British accent. Virginia’s Anna was spot on too. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

This book is emotional, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
