Publisher's Summary

I knew the risks of this job when I signed on with Jameson Force Security. Knew my time as a marine would prepare me for the danger I would face. But no amount of training could have ever prepared me for the helplessness of watching my teammates die, the agonizing mental and physical pain of torture, or the despair of captivity.

Returning home to Pittsburgh following a mission gone wrong, I am riddled with guilt and haunted by nightmares. I spend my days trying to regain the parts of myself I lost in that desert, the pieces that made me the Malik Fournier I once was. While the physical effects of my torture are fading, the emotional ones are proving much more stubborn and I find solace from the last person I should ever seek such comfort.

Anna Tate lost even more than I did in that mission. Now a widow and a single mom to the daughter she gave birth to shortly after her husband’s death, Anna offers me comfort I don’t deserve. As my feelings for Anna grow, I worry that once she learns the truth about what happened, she’ll turn her back on me.

I pull her to me just as tightly as I push her away. Hoping this forbidden love will save me from the ghost I’ve become.

Wow

Wow!!!! I devoured this book. I have been waiting for this book since Malik went missing in Syria. I have mixed emotions about this book. I loved it, it was eye opening and yet I'm a little sad now that I have the full story. Why sad? Because I don't think this book can be topped.

Malik lost a piece of himself in Syria during captivity. No surprise. But to find that missing piece in the wife of a teammate he lost in Syria has to be one of the hardest emotional roller coasters ever. And let's not forget bro-code.

Anna lost her husband on a mission gone bad. She became a single mother weeks later. But she found a piece of herself when she convinced Kynan to give her a job as his Admin. Then Malik is found and she is relieved. Is she really over losing Jimmy? Is she ready to move on?

This book was chock full of emotions. The guilt, self recrimination, and emotional toll being in captivity for 5 months took on Malik. The self exploration of her own desires and figuring out what Jimmy would have wanted for Anna. The long talks. The maintenance repairs. There was just so much going on in this book. I could NOT put it down. Now, I'm sad that it's over. I waited so long for this book, the anticipation and now it's just over. I want more.

This is only my second audiobook by Aaron Shedlock, but he is truly amazing. The last book I listened to that he narrated, he had a South African accent. In this book he's Canadian/American with a gruffness to his voice. He embodies the characters. He truly becomes them. I love Virginia Rose as Anna. She shows her strength and her fear. Her joy and fun side as well as her serious side. This was a great pairing for this book.

4 Hopeful Stars

This is a story of two people that are dealing with the events of a mission gone wrong in different ways. Anna focuses on her daughter and making a life for herself on her own. Malik on the other hand is struggling with guilt for what happened and guilt for his feelings for Anna. I liked that they develop a friendship first but I do have to admit that their relationship progressed rather quickly. Overall I enjoyed the story, these characters show us that there is always hope even when you feel like you’re lost. I can’t wait for the next book!

Narration was perfect! Both narrators were flawless in their narration and switched seamlessly between characters.

Great Read

Code Name: Ghost (Jameson Force Security #5) was a great read by Sawyer Bennett.Malik knew that his job with Jameson Force Security was a risky one. But his training as a marine would prepare him for the danger. Unfortunately his training wouldn’t prepare him to watch his teammates die and be stuck in captivity. He was subjected to torture both mentally and physically. Malik returned to Pittsburgh feeling guilty and haunted by nightmares. Malik is trying to find the man he was before the mission that changed his life. On that same mission, Anna lost her husband. Not only is she a widow, she is a single mother to the little girl she had after her husband’s death. Anna and Malik comfort each other. They have a chemistry that neither one can deny. I really enjoyed reading Anna and Malik’s story and can’t wait to read more by Sawyer Bennett.

Tragedy and Love!

Malik and Anna's story was so amazing. I have been waiting for Malik's story since he was first introduced in the Arizona Vengeance series with his brothers. Their story just hit me right in my heart and made me feel all the things!! I cannot wait to go back and listen again.

Loved it!!

Malik Fournier was on a mission for Jameson Force Security when he was taken prisoner. That same mission killed two of his teammates. After months in captivity, Malik is rescued. As he begins to heal physically, mentally he is suffering from survivors’ guilt.

Anna Tate lost her husband on the same mission Malik was taken captive. She is now learning to live her life as a single mother. As her and Malik bond over the loss of her husband, seems to be the only one that truly understands Malik. Their chemistry is instant and as their friendship turns into more, will Anna and Malik be able to put their issues aside to finally get their happily ever after.

This is truly one of the best Jameson Force stories.

Survivor's guilt

Malik was on the same mission as Anna's husband. Anna's husband dies and Malik is taken prisoner for several months until he's rescued by Jameson. He feels guilty that he could have reacted differently and Anna's husband could have lived. As Anna and Malik grow closer, will the past come between them and can Anna have a future with someone who might die on a mission like her husband? I really looked forward to listening to this book and it didn't disappoint. Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose were great narrators. I see there's at least one more book in the series and I'm looking forward to it.

Story of grief, guilt, second chance & friendship

This is the fifth book in the Jameson Force Security series but that should not stop you from enjoying this book if you have not read or listened to the earlier books. Yes, there are interactions with prior characters but the author does a good job that you won’t be lost in who they are. The story really focuses on Malik and his returning to Pittsburg after his last mission for Jameson Force Security went wrong and he was captured. I really enjoyed how the narrators really brought this story to life. I was not able to turn it off and spent all day listening to it. For those that are familiar with the series you will be like me and have been waiting for Malik’s story. Not only were the narrators able to portray all the emotions of the characters, you felt like you were really with them. So when you start this story, plan on spending the next several hours listening because you won’t want to stop as you experience this story of grief, survivors guilt, second chances, and friendship and love. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, as the author has given us hints to Cage and what is going on with him and boy that sounds like it is going to be awesome.

So Good!!

This is the next in the Jamison Force Series it’s book fifth of the series. We finally find out what happened to Malik Fournier once he was kidnapped on a previous mission and how he feels about the situation that occurred. He feels guilty and blames himself for things going south on the mission and once he’s rescued and back at Jamison Security finds himself placed on desk duty for the time being. He also now works with the widow of one of his team members that was lost during that mission. Anna Tate is now a single mother and widow that does everything in her power to show she’s capable of handling everything in her life as an independent woman. Once Malik has returned safely she can breathe a little easier knowing some good came out of the horrific situation that took her husbands life that fateful mission. They share a bond that nobody can truly understand but each other.

The story was amazing and captivating it kept you wanting more and rooting for them as they had been through so much and deserved happiness. The story was a page turner and never wanting it to end but once it did there was a HEA after the ups and downs they had to face.

The narrators were amazing and did an excellent job giving us the story bringing it to life.

Love It!

I really liked this audiobook! Sawyer Bennetts writing always keeps me interested and wondering whats gonna happen next. Especially right now as I’ve had trouble staying interested in books. Sawyers Bennetts writing has kept my attention all the way through. And this is another example of that! This is an exciting and sexy story that you won’t wanna put down.
Can’t wait for more.
Narration is good. I do wish the male narrator spoke more naturally but still a good performance.

Malik gets his story!

I was waiting and waiting for Malik’s book! I wasn’t disappointed. We get a little of his background. Then see how he is moving forward. I really liked his character and I felt we “know” him because it seems he’s has been around a bit. Anna was Jimmy’s wife. She has been through a bit with his death. With assistance she came out the other side. I did love both of these characters as well as seeing a few from Jameson Security.

We get to spend time with Anna and her friend Cage. Cage is simply adorable. I can not wait for his story! He seems so clueless about women that I can only imagine what his route will take.

My issues with this story were few. I would think Malik would have some ptsd issues after that but he didn’t seem to. As well as the whole “Ghost” moniker..how did he get it? I didn’t hear that at all. Also the time frame for this seemed short. Only three months since his capture and the death of Jimmy. I was surprised that they fell I to a relationship so soon.

Over all it’s a good story. I love reading about this crew and seeing where life takes them. I am always excited for the next in this series. I did listen to this on audio and Aaron Shredlock and Virginia Rose did a wonderful job with the narration.

Worth the wait!

I've been anticipating Code Name: Ghost since I found out in one of Sawyer Bennett's earlier books that Malik survived. I was curious to see how he'd recover from the ordeal and who he was going to end up with, and it was worth the wait!

Anna's husband, Jimmy, was killed on the same mission Malik was on when he was captured. That makes this different from the other romances I usually get to read- this one is also about finding love again after suffering a loss and overcoming survivor's guilt. One thing I liked about this story is that it addresses both issues well and that it ended with all the loose ends neatly tied up. It does, however, tease the next book in the series, Code Name: Rook, and I can't wait to see what happens in Cage's story.

Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose were fantastic as Malik and Anna.

Code Name: Ghost is a slow burn contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded dual style. It's a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

The story we've been waiting for!!!

Having heard that the mission had gone wrong and Anna lost her husband and Malik was missing, I had been curious about these two from the start.

All the past, the pain, and the hopeful look to the future. Ahh, the tension, trying to hold back, not sure if they can move forward. SO good! We wanted this story, and it delivered!

An absolute gem!!

I love the entire Jameson Force Security series but this book Code Name: Ghost is by far my favorite. Malik and Anna's survival through some of the worst things imaginable had me crying all of those ugly tears. Their love story reeled me in like no other books have done before. I absolutely loved it. By far one of my best reads of 2020 so far. The narrators were fantastic really paying justice to the words they read. They used all the emotion necessary to make this book totally believable.

Worth the wait

This is one of the books that I have been not so patiently waiting for. I wanted to know what happened to Malik in Syria and when he comes home. And what would happen with Anna Tate after picking up the pieces of her life after losing her husband. The relationship with these two is what you can imagine. Sawyer Bennett did not disappoint with this book. I could not put this down and loved the story. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. The great thing about this series and of sawyer Bennett series is you don’t have to read all of the books but I do suggest you do because they are so good. Aaron Sherlock and Virginia Rose narration was great

My favourite in the series and so good on audio

Yay! Finally, it’s Malik’s turn. Malik Fournier, brother to Cold Fury Hockey players Max and Lucas, a former marine now working for Jameson Force Security, held hostage for 5 months in the desert following an operation gone bad. Then we have the adorable, hard working and independent Anna Tate who lost her husband on that same mission, a widow with a baby on the way. When Malik is rescued and working back at Jameson, he and Anna quickly form a bond deeper than just friendship, but they both need to let go of their guilt if they have any chance of being more. Not a lot of action in this story, lots of romance though. A wonderful story, featuring many of my favourite Sawyer Bennett characters. Malik and Anna, don’t play games, they speak their minds and don’t mince their words. Truth all the way, even if it does hurt to hear. A match made in heaven, and true sole mates in my opinion. Wonderful writing, a great story and characters, and quite possibly one of my favourites in the series. Add in narration from Aaron Shedlock (I just love his sexy rumble), and Virginia Rose, and it was a real winner for me.

Talk about a rough start for our hero Malik and with a connection to Anna's tragic past. At least they found a way to heal each other. Good book and I think this book is perfect on audio.

Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose were perfect for their characters.

This is the story I have been waiting for

Welcome to another installment of the Jameson Force series.

Ever since "that mission" I have been anxious for both Anna and Malik - we have met them in earlier books, and I have needed more.

And Ms Bennett has definitely come out hitting with Code Name: Ghost.

I don't want to give anything away, but boy oh boy is this one a rollercoaster.

Feelings of grief and guilt play a big part in this story, and I felt it right to my core. So many tortured feelings and emotions, I just wanted to hug our lovelies so hard.

I loved getting more of the Jameson "family" dynamic and finding out where our previous couples are at, and have left me wanting more.

Ms Rose is a new narrator to me, and she has a wonderful tone to her narration. Mr Shadlock is fast becoming a favourite of mine, and look forward to more of both their work.

Please Ms Bennett, give me more.

A Riveting & Heartfelt Story! Brilliant Listen🎧📚🎧

I loved this book, it is a beautiful written story of two people who suffered from tragedy and loss. Malik was on a mission with other members of Jameson Force Security, it was supposed to be an in and out rescue mission but things went bad when they were ambushed from behind, two members of his team were killed and he was taken hostage, held for five months in an hole in the ground somewhere in a Syrian desert. He was tortured and was not sure what his future held, he was doubtful he even had one. Jameson Force Security lead by Kynan, did not give up on finding him, it took them months to locate him but they did and the team went in and rescued Malik. Kynan, one of my favorite characters in this series, looks out for his men, he wanted to make sure Malik got the help he needed not allowing him to go back to full duty until he was cleared. Anna Tate’s life was forever changed, she lost her husband and gave birth to his daughter several months after the loss, a bittersweet moment for her. She is learning how to live again, she is now working at Jameson Force Security and coming to terms with being a single mom. She was happy to hear that Malik was rescued, she only met him briefly before he left on the mission so she was not expecting to feel such a strong connection to him as she did. I felt the two were perfect for each other and together. Two wounded souls with broken hearts, hers for losing her husband his for the guilt he felt for the failed mission. I love how their story played out, it is beautiful plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, many heart filling emotions and the start of a wonderful romance. Sawyer Bennett did a great job covering survivor’s guilt and PTSD. I loved how realistic and relatable the characters are, it is easy to see and understand what they are going thru. Also loved Malik’s connection to Cold Fury Hockey. Thank you for another awesome book, I know I said it before but this is definitely one of my favorites of yours, one of many.

Aaron Shedlock and Virgin’a Rose are talented narrator and versatile voice artists. They bring the characters to life naturally and with ease, giving each their own voice. They do an awesome job portraying each characters, I loved Aaron’s Malik, he captured his true persona and sounded just as I pictured him to sound. His Kynan was perfection too, great job with the British accent. Virginia’s Anna was spot on too. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

Tortured souls

If you are looking for a book with all the feels, look no further! Sawyer Bennett's Ghost has every feel right here for you! Malik is home now, after watching his teammates dies and being held hostage. Coming back and facing all the ghosts is near impossible. Anna is a new widow with an infant and she has taken a definite interest in Malik's well being. The two have an inexplicable connection and their attraction palpable. Now falling, will Anna be able to deal with the secret Malik has been keeping? Will Malik ever learn to forgive himself for coming home alive? This book has it all and you will feel it deep in your heart. Anna is a fantastic character. She is grieving, but she is so strong, and she isn't shut off from loving again. Malik is so tortured. Between what he witnessed and the guilt he carries, he is a mess. I can see why Anna loves him though. Mess or not, the man is passionate and loving. Their journey is hard, each carrying their baggage, but soon find it's so much lighter when they carry it together!

Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose bring this all to life. Shedlock plays the broody, tortured soul flawlessly. Each emotion Malik feels is felt through the nuances in Shedlock's voice. Rose easily falls into character as Anna. She uses her voices to let us know exactly what Anna is experiencing. Together they are amazing!
