The Vampire the Masquerade Clan Novel Saga is a thirteen-volume masterpiece, presenting the war between the established Camarilla leadership and the growing power of the brutal Sabbat on the East Coast of the United States. Each novel is told from the perspective of one of the thirteen clans, intertwining with the others, and filling in missing pieces artfully as we follow battle after battle, intrigue after intrigue—and the appearance of a strange artifact that falls into the hands of a solitary Toreador sculptor.
Clan Novel Lasombra is the sixth in the series. Lucita—vampiric assassin and turncoat childe of the devious Cardinal Moncada—is hunting a Sabbat archbishop, a leader of the sect's East Coast war of conquest.
If she succeeds, her mysterious patrons will pay her very well indeed.
If she fails… but then, Lucita never fails.
The Sabbat Templar Talley—a fearsome killer and sworn protector of the archbishops—is duty bound to stand in her way… if only he could find out which of his charges is her target.
Moncada orders talley to discover who hired Lucita and to stop the prodigal childe without harming her.
It is an impossible task… but Talley never fails.
Now two of the most ruthless and efficient monsters the clan of shadows has ever spawned are about to face each other in a dance of blood and death.
Someone is about to learn to lose… This series is a monumental 13-novel exploration of the forbidden world of the Kindred.
What began in Clan Novel: Toreador continues here, and its ending will determine the fate of every human—and inhuman—being in the world.

Richard Dansky has jumped into this world and made it his own. Following a large cast of characters (sometimes confusing, but the ones important to the story stick out well) in their own small part of a story in the larger war that their world is going through in the late 1990s, we get to watch the political intrigue and assassinations by moonlight that define the setting of Vampire the Masquerade.
Amber McCulloch did a phenomenal job reading and infusing each and every character with their own voice to match their personality. She also helps cultivate the atmosphere of drama and secrecy important to any good Vampire story. My only complaint (jokingly) is that she left me liking a few characters a bit too much, feeling let down by their inevitable doom through the course of Dansky's story.
Great for Vampire Lovers and WoD Enthusiasts both!

When Lucita comments about watching a procession of vampires all pursuing each other, each one believing themselves invisible, ingenious and immortal, I felt like someone had been spying on my local LARP game. I've seen so many player characters in Vampire the Masquerade do exactly the kind of cunning, goofy, weird stuff this story depicts and I loved every second of it.
The cast may or may not suit you. It is a very compelling set of incredibly rich characters. That said it's a *lot* of characters, and that may not be for everyone. The story feels more plot driven than character driven as a result.
The narrator really loves a funky little guy. Every member of Clan Nosferatu you meet will be your new favorite character. She makes every Lasombra appropriately either a force of nature or a cunning sociopath. You'll understand every character in the book better and have more fun with them thanks to the voice acting the narrator brings to the party.
I swear I've played this game before
