Scraps, a gutter child, is sitting in his hiding place in a back alley, waiting for the cold thunderstorm to pass. Suddenly, lightning strikes in front of him, and then a second time. The two lightning bolts become men — two wizards — one from the Red Order, the other from the Blue. The Red Wizard, chanting his curses, throws lightning bolts and fireballs. The Blue Wizard, singing his spells, throws lightning bolts and ice shards.

On the unforgiving planet of Dakkar, I did what all the humans in our village did: kept my head down, worked to provide for my family, and certainly didn’t break any Dakkari laws to risk inciting the alien race’s merciless wrath. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for my brother, and one careless mistake brings a horde of the nomadic, barbarian Dakkari straight to our doorstep, led by their powerful horde king - a cold, ruthless, battle-scarred warrior demanding retribution.

Fae exist only in children’s stories, or so I thought. That was before a nightmarish creature of the Fae Realm dropped into my life. He claimed a seven-pointed mark on my skin signified my magical lineage, the bit of DNA my mother passed down. Days after I arrive in the Fae Realm, I’m thrown into a series of trials titled ‘The Devotion’. I must compete with demons, vampires, elves and more who want to claim their place at the future King’s side. I have no interest in this guy, but it doesn’t help that the King-to-be is a gorgeous, brooding fae.

Publisher's Summary
This is the complete omnibus edition of the four-part serialized fantasy erotic romance Claimed by the Elven King. It contains strong sexual content and is not intended for readers under 18.
For Emily Ford, being awakened in the dead of night by what seems to be the very shadows in her bedroom come to life is the least of her worries as she is spirited away to become the new wife of an elven king for the purpose of bearing his heirs. Entranced despite herself by his ethereal beauty, Emily surrenders willingly to his seduction and is introduced to a new world of sexual pleasures she had not thought possible outside of a dream.
But can a human ever really win the heart of an elf or have a place within the elven court, especially when the biggest obstacles to both are her new husband's barren and resentful queen, who makes no qualms about wanting Emily gone and is prepared to do the unspeakable to make it happen, and the whispers of anti-human sentiments within the elven court, itself?

A Wildly Entertaining Treasure!
Where does Claimed by the Elven King rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Claimed by the Elven King ranks pretty high among all of the other incredible audio books that I had read. I am always looking for new authors that will take my heart for a glorious journey, and this was one of those amazing stories!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Claimed by the Elven King?
My most memorable moment was when Emily sacrificed herself for her husband's life and the well-being of their children. She didn't even think twice about what this meant for her. She just had to ensure that the people she loved the most were taken care of. No matter what she had complete faith in her husband and her eldest son to do what was best for their family, and this was the best that she could ever give to each of them.
Which character – as performed by Emily Wahlund – was your favorite?
My favorite character was Emily. I loved how her life changed so drastically, and yet she had the grace and inner strength to see it through and to do what she could to make it the best life possible along the way. She loved completely and gave everything of herself for those she held most dear in her life. What more could you want in a life?
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moment in the book that touched me so deeply was whenever the King realized that he and Emily were soulmates. It shocked him to the core, and yet he cherished it so deeply because he loved her completely. This truth cemented their connection as a family along with their newborn son at the time. It was an incredible moment!
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this paranormal romantic suspense story. It was utterly amazing and incredibly beautiful! The details, the foreign world, and the intricate society she was put into really showed the type of person Emily was and in extension those around her. What an amazing journey this has been! I would like to see more from this story unfold in the future!

Imaginative, intense, ADULT romance!
An enthralling, imaginative, descriptive, intense, fast-paced, ADULT fairy tale romance.
It was the middle of the night when they came for me. Even now I can’t be sure of the time, whether they waited for me to have been asleep long enough to ensure that I would be super confused if accidentally awakened, or if they had waited until after midnight when my roommate usually headed out for her graveyard shift at the hospital.
Claimed by the Elven King by Cristina Rayne is an erotic paranormal romance told in the heroine’s first person point of view. It contains strong, mature adult content. This marks my first foray into any books written by Cristina Rayne and the first I’ve ever listened to anything voiced by Emily Wahlund. I was originally drawn to this audio as the male pictured on the cover reminded me slightly of The Goblin King. Besides the entitled attitude, the similarities ended there. This is the story of human Emily Ford and Sethian, the Elven King.
As the story opens, we are with Emily, a human, as she is abducted by the elven guard in the middle of the night. She is confused and, at points, in pain, as her body is prepared for the transition from the human world to the world of the Sidhe. She learns that she has been taken to be mated to the Elven King and to produce his heirs because elven women are barren. We are present as she is becomes his bride and as she is integrated into the day-to-day of the elven court. I will add that what happened to Emily would not be ok in real life, but, in the author’s fantasy world, it works well. Amid the throes of a steamy encounter, the couple discover that they are destined soul mates. So what starts out as insta-love, actually develops into a loving relationship.
Emily Wahlund, the narrator, did a very good job bringing this story to life. She consistently voiced and differentiated between the characters exuding the proper emotions. She was easy to understand. I’m glad that I elected to listen to the audio of this read but it definitely required headphones.
Claimed by the Elven King is an enthralling, imaginative, descriptive, intense, fast-paced, fairy tale romance. Besides the frequent, steamy, vivid, extremely hot sex, there’s love, court politics and treachery. The story and characters are well-developed and the tale held my interest through-out. I’d like to check out the other titles from this series. If you enjoy fascinating, exceedingly erotic, paranormal romantic fantasies, I would encourage you to check out Claimed by the Elven King.

Good
The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. This was a good book. There were thrills, chills, a steamy romance, and a HEA. My only problem with the book was that the narrator, Emily Wahlund, read the book at a somewhat rushed pace. There were times that it was appropriate. However, I would have enjoyed it more if she'd slowed down a bit for the rest of the book.

Why are you a series of noevellas?
The story line was a great place to start on a new series. My biggest question is why is this a novella vs a fully explored novel? Did no one in the publishing department see this as an opportunity to expound upon a rather good PNR moment? I truly liked it. Just wish it would have been further expounded upon.

Entertaining
I enjoyed this book, I did however find that it moved very fast. I thought she fell in love too quickly and the story jumped ahead years at a time which was kind of hard to follow. But the plot was excellent. I really like the ideas and story line. The sex scenes were very steamy and frequent, just the way I like them.
The narration was well done and pleasing to the ears.
