Blake Pierce’s Best Series!!!!

Ava Gold is the absolute best series Blake Pierce has going for her right now. I was also a huge fan of the Zoe Prime series but for some reason she abruptly stopped writing additional books in that series. It didn’t feel like it ended it just stopped, I still hope she will add to it or end it with a decent finale.
Anyway, this book is an excellent addition to this series Ava Gold is the widow of a fallen officer. After cornering his Captain and shaming him publicly to hire her so she can support her child she quickly proves herself to be a valuable investigator in NYC in 1929. At that time women were Dames and Broads and rarely taken seriously. Women police officers carried a whistle instead of a gun and most gave parking tickets. Ava grew up in her father’s boxing gym and is a force to be reckoned with. She soon made the newspapers and became the star of the precinct and granted the privilege of carrying a weapon. She’s been loaned to a different precinct because she is in an almost relationship with another male detective.
In this book a man jumps off of the top floor of the Chrysler building while it is under construction. The police deem it a suicide, Ava believes it is something else.
Kaden Kroll does a wonderful job narrating.
This book has my Very Highest Recommendation.
