Publisher's Summary

It's okay to have a few inner demons, right?

Devon has a problem, and it's not just that her stealth skill is stuck at three. Though that is an issue when it comes to sneaking up on...well, anything.

The real problem is that her former guildmate, Owen, is trapped in the demonic plane. Not just his in-game avatar. His mind is lost there too, leaving his real-life body in a coma. The only way to get him back, it seems, is to journey into the underworld and guide him back.

Shouldn't be a big deal - as long as she doesn't mind transforming into a demon herself.

Great book and performance annoying skipping issue

The book (specifically the second half) will skip randomly and always in the same places. Nothing I do has fixed the issue and I don’t know if it is an issue with the audio book itself or audible. Otherwise the story is great, the voice acting and effects are amazing and overall I can’t wait for the next one (I have read all of the books when they came out on kindle)

more LitRPG fun

Book four does not disappoint. Devan's adventures in and out of relic online continue to weave an intriguing narrative that has me coming back for more. excellent progression in the overall story while being it's own complete adventure.

quite entertaining

Well this was a rather entertaining little romp through the demonic plane. Devon of course had a few instances where I thought she need to be cuffed upside the head for being so dense. I still think this would be an interesting world to visit, I could spend hours upon hours getting lost there. it's to bad we lack the ability to make such an experience.

good but books real world is getting to be cringe

I like the story but the books real world is slowly getting annoying.

Main issue I have is the author doesn't seem to want to consider the implications or negative side of the new tech even though they had setup a perfect opportunity to. By fleshing out one character they could have done this and actually made the characters think about the new tech but instead made the character a one dimensional a## and called it a day.

Disappointment

Really enjoyed this series until this book. Too much rambling on about things I didn’t care about. The in game story hardly progressed at all. I even had to rewind back to early chapters several times to try again, but it made no difference. Really kind of boring.

A+ Story, narrator misses the mark

With this book, Soundbooth Theater added some effects to the voices that made it very difficult to follow the story. There is a whispered conversation that is key to the story later on that I had to almost max out the volume to hear. Also, digital effects were added to some of the characters that made their dialogue very difficult to follow.

Great series

I'm a big fan of this series. If you like epic fantasy, litrpg or an mc who gets some real challenges thrust upon her you should give this a try. Narration was great as always.

WONDERFUL!

this book is more about moving forward the plot outside of the game world and setting up the next couple of books with foreshadowing.... And still it is somehow brilliant and I swallowed it in no time flat...

Annie is fantastic as always and I don't recall the last time that I didn't compliment Jeff and this time is no different.

get to listening starborn!

Great, as always!

Another great addition to the story. The real-world story and the game story start to blend together more in this one, and I like it. Keep on keeping on Carrie Summers, you beautifully brilliant wordsmith!

Just plain boring...

There is too much extra going on. Just play the game already... O wait you can't because the world is ending and evil people and corporations that don't have to answer to laws because the book makes no sense!!!! Just unrealistic and boring. Waste of time reading this.

brilliant

the whole serise is amazing. book 4 continued to thrill, Devon's struggles never seem to be at an end, she's got so much going on but help from Bob and her friends make her journey better, even Emerson is starting to be more open. I'd recommend this serise with an easy 5 star.

Still amazing

If you have been enjoying the series so far, this book will not disappoint. This entry continues to develop the world of the game and outside of it. The characters remain interesting and deep, and we learn more about everyone. The action is intense and engaging. A truly thrilling read.

Yet another masterpiece

Extremely well written novel. Awesome array of characters and adventures.

When I first read the blurb I had my doubts. They were soon put to rest.

Congratulations Carrie and Soundbooth. I’m looking forward to the next instalment. Is it ready yet? Hint hint
