Publisher's summary

It all started with an anonymous letter....

It's unlike Erica Davidson's dad to meddle in other people's business, much less write an anonymous letter to a beautiful, young stranger. But that is exactly what Dean Davidson has done. Days later, the girl is found dead at the bottom of Cimarron Falls. Erica, a high-powered attorney in Nashville, travels to the idyllic town of Ridgway, Colorado, to help her parents navigate these shocking developments. She is immediately swept into a series of events that holds everything from closely guarded secrets, to possible murder, to the plot of a John Wayne movie shot in the area.

Erica joins forces with the local marshal to investigate the girl's mysterious death while wrestling with a haunting memory from her childhood thirty years ago, in the very same area. Could the two incidents be connected somehow?

Nothing with Dean is easy. And now he is suffering from dementia. Erica and her sisters must put aside their complicated relationship dynamics with their dad as they help him piece together exactly what happened the day the young girl died. The results could be life-changing for all of them, and possibly career-changing for Erica.

Excellent novel and fantastic audiobook production

Cimarron Falls was a great novel. I was captivated from the very start. The character development was fantastic. I felt like I knew some of the characters personally from their stories. The novel ended perfectly - no spoiler alert here. I just hope Julie Adkison keeps writing. I want more!
Regarding the audible production: I've listened to many audiobooks, and most were of high quality. But none of them compared to the production of this audio book. The bulk of the novel was narrated by a female and she was perfect for the part. Several chapters that predominantly featured a male were narrated by a male, and he was also an excellent narrator. The music in the background at key points throughout the book enhanced the scene, as did the occasional sound effects.
I highly recommend this audiobook, and would invite authors to use this production as a model for their audio projects, especially for mystery novels. Very, very well done.

Mystery, Drama, Trauma, and chaos

Wow! I came in with no expectations. Just ready for an apparent mystery, written by the wife of someone I met long ago.

I was enraptured by the intricacies of the stories, the myriad of perspectives, and the twists and turns all along the way. Mysteries aside, this was a story of family drama, life experiences, the impacts of trauma, and a main character re-finding themselves & their purpose or calling, in the midst of all that chaos!
