Publisher's Summary

Thalia, a 25-year-old wild girl gone good, moves back to her old neighborhood after a failed engagement and manages to catch the eye of the town's most wanted man - the incredibly sexy, single, devoted, and charismatic Reverend Isaac. Not only is there a large age difference between Thalia and the middle-aged pastor, but he also happens to be the father of Madison, her best friend since junior high school. Madison isn't trying to deal with her father dating anyone after her mother's death. Thalia asks Isaac to keep their relationship a secret, but he's been intrigued by her ever since she was a teenager, and now he wants the world to know. When tragedy strikes, their love is exposed to her family, his colleagues, his congregation, and her best friend. Now it seems like the whole town is in an uproar. The gossiping church mothers in Mount Pleasant aren't the only problem that Thalia and Isaac have, though. A former lover rears his ugly head and forces their relationship to change for the absolute worst. Can this May-December romance survive when it seems fate is just not on their side?

Amazing read!

I listen to these books while I'm at work and this one had me crying, laughing, emotional and on the edge of my seat! My coworkers thought I was crazy lol. The narrator really brought the book to life. I felt like I was right there. This is my 1st book by Tristan Russell but I'm about to go and buy every book she has ever written. I am definitely a fan now.

I love it!

I enjoyed the book from the start! I also didn’t have a problem with the narrator like some of the others did it. It was worth the credit!

Great story but narrator...

The narrator needed to take a break! She read this story entirely too fast! I initially return d the book to audible because it was so fast it was unenjoyable!

the summary promised spicy, drama and love

The actual story did not live up to the summary written for the book. Only one character was fully developed the story was bogged down with unnecessary details it added nothing to the scenes in which they were included. The narration had pauses in the oddest of places for example mid sentence. The ending which was actually the middle of the story was convoluted and ridiculous and then it just dropped off as if this was a complete story. This feels as if it's a disservice to the story the readers and the author's work.

Rollercoaster Book

Would you try another book from Trista Russell and/or iiKane?

I am interested in a part 2 of this book I hope Trista Russell has one! I saw that this was her only book on audible, I would listen to more of her books if they were available.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I thought there would be more problems with her ex. I think that plot didn't go that far and the other ex plot did which didn't make any sense to me. Give more depth to Isaac's background. It was overall a good book.

What didn’t you like about iiKane’s performance?

iiKane read entirely too fast in the beginning. I had to turn down the speed of her voice from normal to slower for the first part which was annoying. I would've stopped listening if I didn't read how good the reviews were for this book before buying it.

Could you see Chocolate Covered Forbidden Fruit being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Listening to this book made me kind of think of the cast of Insecure for the first part of the book. I can see it being a movie, it had enough ups and downs.

Any additional comments?

The bank scene had me in tears! iiKane really sold that section of the book. My heart felt everything especially when she kept saying she has the glasses.

Interesting Read....

Storyline was good.. never a dull moment... great character development. Narrator was horrible... she talked way to fast and had to much of a sister girl attitude with it... no thank you. Outside of narrator the book was very good!
