This collection features two books from the Chloe Cook Cozy Mystery series including:

Death, Divorce, and Dessert

As makeup saleswoman, Chloe Cook drives across town to her next appointment. She believes that it's just a normal day in Cape Cod. Unfortunately, she's dead wrong. A killer is afoot. And they have claimed their next victim. As Chloe arrives at her appointment, she learns that the victim is one of her dear friends.

After processing the shocking news, Chloe makes a bold decision. She becomes determined to bring her friend's killer to justice. But is Chloe in over her head?

Murder and Salt Water Taffy

When another murder occurs in Cape Cod, it shakes Chloe Cook to her core.

Unfortunately, that isn't the only bad news that Chloe receives. Much to Chloe's dismay, one of her good friends gets arrested for the murder.

Chloe believes that the police have made a huge mistake. In Chloe's mind, there is no way that her friend is guilty. Chloe can't get the detective to listen to her, however. It soon becomes clear that there's only one way for Chloe's friend to get her freedom back.

Chloe will have to catch the real killer herself. Is she up to the challenge?

Perfect cozies for short reads!

Just the right length for listening to while in a waiting room! Amateur sleuth Chloe is not only the one to find the body of her friend, but the older detective in their small town decides to have her along on the suspect interviews because he knows that she'll be at cross purposes with him otherwise. And it's a darn good thing that he does!
THEN
Chloe's best friend is accused of the murder of her recently ex boyfriend, and it seems logical on the surface. Chloe investigates until the truth is proved. Loved it!
I have the audio performed by Stephanie Quinn who does a fine job.

Two well-written short read from a good author

Death, Divorce, and Dessert & Murder and Salt Water Taffy, my eighth read from author Kayla Michelle & co-writer K.M. Morgan Well-written & enjoyable, another cute, clean cozy mystery. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Stephanie Quinn. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Two interesting stories in the world of Chloe Cook

Death, Divorce and Dessert - A quick cozy mystery. I enjoyed this story as Chloe Cook came upon the murdered body of a friend and worked with the police to solve the crime. The secondary characters were also interesting, and I loved the interactions amongst them. Stephanie Quinn did a wonderful job with the narration.
Murder and Salt Water Taffy - I enjoyed this story, and Stephanie Quinn did another wonderful job bringing the characters to life. Chloe Cook needed to prove a friend's innocence so she delved into the mystery. I loved the relationship between her and the detective. There were plenty of twists and clues, and I liked the resolution to the mystery.

I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Pure entertainment

Kayla Michelle and KM Morgan know how to keep me guess and entertain me! This 2 book set had just enough whodunnit to have my mind working. The first in the series is Death, Divorce, and Dessert. Chloe Cook is off to her next appointment. When the door isn't answered, she snoops a little to find her client dead! Chloe puts her super sleuthing skills to work to find the culprit! The second book is Murder and Salt Water Taffy. When another murder comes to Cape Cod, it scares Chloe. But when her friend is arrested as a suspect, she is determined to find the real guilty party. Both of these are so much fun. The town is full of quirky characters and Chloe sorts through them to find the suspects. Each one is original and I loved the twist on the second! SURPRISE!!! And there is no better way to end a case them with something sweet. Stephanie Quinn is a wonderful cozy mystery narrator and I enjoyed her performance.

Good story

I thought these stories were good. I wish I had enjoyed the narration more. I would listen to her again, so it wasn’t that bad, I guess it just wasn’t what I was expecting or had pictured in my mind. If you know what I mean. The characters are good and I like that it shows the whole of someone’s life. Her, her boyfriend, her friends and her parents and grandmother. It makes the story richer to me. I like this author a great deal and will be reading more from her in the future. I was given this book by request, but the opinions are entirely my own.

Good Stories

DEATH DIVORCE & Dessert
Interesting characters, with the mention of desserts. Chloe maybe an amateur, but the detective brings her along to help with interviews. Stephanie had a good narration voice for this short, but good plot mystery.
MURDER & SALT WATER TAFFY
One can love salt water taffy and memories of where they are sold. Then murder and Chloe doesn’t like who they suspected did it. Once again she sets out to prove her friend could not have done it. These are delightful to sit back and enjoy. Given arc audio which makes them even more enjoyable.for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Just right for a train journey

Let's face it, train journeys can be very dull. This brightened my journey with gentle stories, housing nice characters. The narration is clear and easy to understand. I'd happily look for another by the same author to pass the time on another journey.
