Intriguing

First, I have to say that the narrator of this story did an amazing job. Her voice is beautiful and kept me interested in what was coming next. I will definitely be looking into her other works. The writing style is smooth with just enough description. I'm not usually one to delve into the fantasy genre, but this book was done well and perked my interest in the other books in this series.

colorful introduction

Good introduction to world and politics of Iverbourne. Ms. Isaacs' descriptive style helps the listener begin to distinguish regional/factions in this prequel.
Narrator Paige Reisenfeld brings to life key characters with completely different accents and pitches, deftly illustrating and augmenting the author's introductions and scene-setting for the next book.

it was ok

I was given a free promo for my honest opinion of this book

the book was okay, I was kinda confused and didn't really understand alot of it. I guess it wasn't my cup of tea. the narrator did a good job, her voice was soothing and made the Characters come alive.
if you're into faery books and paranormal reads you would probably enjoy this

A solid prequel

I have to admit that I was given this book and have no familiarity with the universe or characters. I think knowing more background would have lent more depth to the plot, but I still found this book engaging.
Each character (voiced by a talented narrator) has a brief but thorough introduction, so I did find myself caring about what happened to them. I enjoyed it enough to investigate the series.
as I said, I was given this book and am reviewing it voluntarily.
